Autocontrole
O autocontrole é fruto do Espírito e virtude indispensável. A graça de Deus nos ensina a renunciar à impiedade e a viver com sobriedade, domínio próprio e piedade no mundo presente.
Fruto e virtude
O domínio próprio é fruto do Espírito. Acrescentai ao conhecimento o autocontrole. A disciplina interior produz maturidade.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,23 gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Dominar a si mesmo
Melhor é quem domina o seu espírito do que quem toma uma cidade. A cidade sem muros é quem não tem autocontrole.
32 He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.
