3 *who being the brightness of His glory and the express *image of His person, and *upholding all things by the word of His power, *when He had by Himself purged our sins, *sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become so much better than the angels, as *He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

The Word Becomes Flesh

14 *And the Word *became *flesh and dwelt among us, and *we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, *full of grace and truth.

18 *No one has seen God at any time. *The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

17 But Jesus answered them, *"My Father has been working until now, and I have been working."

18 Therefore the Jews *sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, *making Himself equal with God.

Peter Confesses Jesus as the Christ

13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, *"Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?"

14 So they said, *"Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or *one of the prophets."

15 He said to them, "But who do *you say that I am?"

16 Simon Peter answered and said, *"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

16 *When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw *the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 17 *And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, *"This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

15 *Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

9 *In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten *Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, *not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son *tobe the propitiation for our sins.

8 *He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, *that He might destroy the works of the devil.

12 *He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

16 *For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten *Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them,*even so the Son gives life to whom He will.22 For the Father judges no one, but *has committed all judgment to the Son,23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. *He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

25 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when *the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.26 For *as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have *life in Himself,

12 But *as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 *who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

20 I have been *crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh *I live by faith in the Son of God, *who loved me and gave Himself for me.

4 But *when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, *born *of a woman, *born under the law, 5 *to redeem those who were under the law, *that we might receive the adoption as sons.

6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth *the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!"

10 For *if when we were enemies *we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved *by His life.

6 *For unto us a Child is born,

Unto us a *Son is given;

And *the government will be upon His shoulder.

And His name will be called

*Wonderful, Counselor, *Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, *Prince of Peace.
