10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some by longing for it have been led away from the faith. They have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
9 Those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts. These draw men into ruin and destruction.
24 »You cannot serve two masters. You will hate one and love the other. You will be loyal to one master and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money wealthmaterial possessions.
5 Make your members that are upon the earth dead with regard to fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness greed, which is idolatry.
3 Fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, must not even be mentioned among you, as is proper among holy ones.
Contentamento
Tende cuidado e guardai-vos de toda espécie de ganância. A vida de um homem não consiste na abundância dos bens que possui.
15 Jesus said: »Be careful, do not covet, for life does not come from your possessions.«
36 »What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?
19 »Do not accumulate large amounts of wealth on earth. This is where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal.20 »Accumulate wealth in heaven where neither moth nor rust consumes, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
4 Do not exhaust yourself to get rich. Be wise and show restraint.
11 Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished. He who gathers by labor will increase.
Riqueza ilusória
As riquezas são passageiras. Quem ama o dinheiro nunca terá o suficiente. O contentamento com o que se tem é verdadeira riqueza.
10 He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth, with gain. This too is vanity.
15 We entered this world with nothing and naked and we will leave this world with nothing and naked.
26 He coveted greedily all the daylong, but the righteous gives and does not spare.
6 That is why you pay taxes. They are Gods ministers continually serving this very purpose.
36 Incline my heart to your laws and not to dishonest gain.
