Humildade
A humildade é o caminho da honra verdadeira. Deus resiste aos soberbos, mas dá graça aos humildes. Jesus lavou os pés dos discípulos e nos ensinou que o maior é aquele que serve.
Humilhar-se diante de Deus
Humilhai-vos diante do Senhor e Ele vos exaltará. Quem se humilha será exaltado, e quem se exalta será humilhado.
10 Be ye made lower in the sight of the Lord, and he will lift you up.
6 Therefore be lowered under the mighty hand of God, so that he may lift you up in time,
14 if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
8 Good and upright is LORD. Therefore he will instruct sinners in the way.9 The meek he will guide in justice, and the meek he will teach his way.
23 A man's pride shall bring him low, but he who is of a lowly spirit shall obtain honor.
12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honor [is] humility.
Humildade como virtude
Considerai os outros como superiores a vós mesmos. Revesti-vos de humildade, mansidão e paciência no trato uns com os outros.
3 in nothing according to selfish ambition or empty conceit, but in humility considering each other surpassing yourselves.
20 Now to our God and Father is the glory into the ages of the ages. Truly.
12 Put on therefore, as chosen men of God, holy and beloved, bowels of compassion, kindness, humility, mildness, longsuffering,
2 with all humility and mildness, with longsuffering, forbearing each other in love.
13 For ye, brothers, were called to liberty, only not liberty for an opportunity to the flesh, but be servants to each other through love.
8 And finally, all be like-minded, sympathetic, brother-loving, compassionate, friendly,
3 Of which let it not be the outward world of braiding of hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on apparel,4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible, of the meek and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
O exemplo de Jesus
Aprendei de mim, que sou manso e humilde de coração. O maior entre vós seja o que serve — esse é o caminho do Reino.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, because I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye will find rest for your souls.30 For my yoke is befitting, and my burden is light.
2 When therefore thou do charity, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may have glory by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward.
35 And having sat down, he called the twelve, and he says to them, If any man wants to be first, he will be last of all, and helper of all.
48 and he said to them, Whoever may receive this child in my name receives me, and whoever may receive me receives him who sent me, for he who exists smaller among you all, this man will be great.
4 The reward of humility [and] the fear of LORD [is] riches and honor and life.
33 The fear of LORD is the instruction of wisdom, and before honor [is] humility.
2 When pride comes, then comes shame, but with the lowly is wisdom.
Humildade verdadeira
O que se exige de ti? Praticar a justiça, amar a misericórdia e andar humildemente com teu Deus.
8 He has shown thee, O man, what is good. And what does LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with thy God?
18 Wives, be ye submissive to your own husbands as is proper in Lord.19 Husbands, love the wives and do not be made bitter against them.
16 thinking the same way toward each other, not thinking on lofty things, but accommodating to the lowly. Become not wise according to yourselves,
28 And God chose the common things of the world, and the disdained things, and the things that are not, so that he might make useless the things that are,29 so that no flesh may boast before God.
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show from his good behavior his works in mildness of wisdom.
