Ídolos
A Bíblia condena a idolatria com veemência. Um ídolo é qualquer coisa que ocupa o lugar de Deus no coração. Os cristãos são chamados a guardar-se dos ídolos e servir ao Deus vivo.
Guardai-vos dos ídolos
Filhinhos, guardai-vos dos ídolos. A cobiça é idolatria. Tudo que ocupa o trono de Deus no coração é um ídolo.
Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
Mortify (put to death; remove the life of) therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate (unrestrained; immoderate) affection, evil concupiscence (strong lust; passion), and covetousness, which is idolatry:
For the love of money is a root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
You2f shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall you2f make unto you gods of gold.
Yet I [am] the LORD-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) youi God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] from the land of Mitzrayim [Egypt - The Narrow Place], and youi shall know no god but me: for [there is] no saviour beside me.
O único Deus verdadeiro
O Senhor é Deus nos céus e na terra — não há outro. Escolham hoje a quem servir, mas eu e a minha casa serviremos ao Senhor.
Know therefore this day, and consider [it] in youi heart, that the LORD-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) he [is] God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: [there is] none else.
You2f shall walk after the LORD-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) your God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and you2f shall serve him, and cling to (hold onto; stick to) him.
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate), choose you this day whom you2f will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Emori [Highlanders], in whose land you2f dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate).
Know you2f not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God-The Father? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (acting like a woman; unmanly), nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God-The Father.
Vencer a idolatria
Não tenhas comunhão com as obras das trevas. Revesti-vos da armadura de Deus para resistir às ciladas do diabo.
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove [them].
For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
Put [a bow] on the whole armour of God-The Father, that you2f may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
I pray not that youi should take them out of the world, but that youi should keep them from the evil.
No weapon that is formed against youi shall prosper; and every tongue [that] shall rise against youi in judgment youi shall condemn. This [is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate), and their righteousness [is] of me, says the LORD-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate).
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
The sting of death [is] sin; and the strength of sin [is] the law.
