13 *The fear of the Lordis to hate evil;

*Pride and arrogance and the evil way

And *the perverse mouth I hate.

10 You who love the Lord, *hate evil!

*He preserves the souls of His saints;

*He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

14 *Depart from evil and do good;

*Seek peace and pursue it.

133 *Direct my steps by Your word,

And *let no iniquity have dominion over me.

16 "Wash* yourselves, make yourselves clean;

Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes.

*Cease to do evil,

7 Do not be wise in your own *eyes;

Fear the Lord and depart from evil.

8 It will be health to your flesh,

And *strength to your bones.

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but *overcome evil with good.

Behave Like a Christian

9 *Let love be without hypocrisy. *Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.

Avoid Divisive Persons

17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those *who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and *avoid them.

5 And *the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

15 *See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always *pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.

21 *Test all things; *hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.

13 *And do not lead us into temptation,

But *deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but *that You should keep them from the evil one.

7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;

He shall *preserve your soul.

8 The Lord shall *preserve your going out and your coming in

From this time forth, and even forevermore.

18 *And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. *To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!

11 *Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against *principalities, against powers, against *the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

26 *"Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 *nor give place to the devil.

20 *But as for you, you meant evil against me; but*God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as itis this day, to save many people alive.

Doers—Not Hearers Only

21 Therefore *lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, *which is able to save your souls.

9 If we *confess our sins, He is *faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to *cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

20 And He said, *"What comes out of a man, that defiles a man.21 *For from within, out of the heart of men, *proceed evil thoughts, *adulteries, *fornications, murders,22 thefts, *covetousness, wickedness, *deceit, *lewdness, an evil eye, *blasphemy, *pride, foolishness.23 All these evil things come from within and defile a man."

12 Hatred stirs up strife,

But *love covers all sins.

9 "Thus says the Lord of hosts:

*‘Execute true justice,

Show mercy and compassion

Everyone to his brother.

10 *Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless,

The alien or the poor.

*Let none of you plan evil in his heart

Against his brother.’
