A mulher virtuosa
A mulher virtuosa de Provérbios 31 é um retrato de excelência. Seu valor excede o de rubis — ela é sábia, trabalhadora, generosa e teme ao Senhor acima de tudo.
Uma joia rara
Mulher virtuosa, quem a achará? Seu valor excede o de rubis. Ela é o coração da família e a força do lar.
10 A worthy woman who can find? For her price is far above rubies.
10 A worthy woman who can find? For her price is far above rubies.11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he shall have no lack of gain.12 She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.13 She seeks wool and flax, and works willingly with her hands.14 She is like the merchant ships: she brings her bread from afar.15 She also rises while it is yet night, and gives food to her household, and their task to her maidens.16 She considers a field, and buys it. With the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.17 She girds her loins with strength, and makes strong her arms.18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out by night.19 She lays her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.20 She stretches out her hand to the poor, yea, she reaches forth her hands to the needy.
4 A worthy woman is the crown of her husband, but she who makes ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
11 And now, my daughter, fear not. I will do to thee all that thou say, for all the city of my people knows that thou are a worthy woman.
Caráter acima da aparência
Enganosa é a graça e vã é a formosura, mas a mulher que teme ao Senhor será louvada. A verdadeira beleza é interior.
30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, [but] a woman who fears LORD, she shall be praised.
9 And similarly, the women to adorn themselves in disciplined decorum, with reverence and sobriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive apparel,10 but (which is fitting for women professing godliness) through good works.
1 Every wise woman builds her house, but a foolish woman plucks it down with her own hands.
14 House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from LORD.
3 Aged women likewise be reverent in behavior, not slanderous, not enslaved to much wine, teachers of what is good,4 so that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,5 to be serious-minded, pure, homemakers, good, submissive to their own husbands, so that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
