A Bíblia celebra a mulher como obra-prima da criação divina. Ela é elogiada por sua sabedoria, força, beleza interior e papel fundamental na família e na sociedade.
A mulher na criação
Deus criou o homem e a mulher à sua imagem. A mulher foi formada como ajudadora idônea — parceira de igual dignidade e valor.
27 And God created the man in his own image, In the image of God, created he him,Male and female, created he, them.
21 So Yahweh God caused a deep sleep to fall on the man, and he slept,and he took one of his ribs, and closed up flesh instead thereof.22 And Yahweh God builded the rib which he had taken from the man, into a woman, and brought her in unto the man.23 And the man said, This, one, now, is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh! This, one shall be called Woman, for, out of a man, hath this one been taken.
Virtude e caráter
A beleza é vã e a formosura passageira, mas a mulher que teme ao Senhor é digna de louvor. Seu caráter é seu maior tesouro.
30 Deceitful is loveliness and vain is beauty, The woman that revereth Yahweh, she, shall be praised:
1 Every, wise woman, buildeth up her house, but, a foolish one, with her own hands, would break it down.
4 A virtuous woman, is the crown of her husband, but, a veritable decay in his bones, is she that causeth shame.
16 A gracious wife, obtaineth honour, but, the diligent, shall obtain wealth.
14 House and substance, are an inheritance from ones fathers, but, from Yahweh, cometh a wife who is prudent.
19 Better to dwell in a desert land, than with a woman, quarrelsome and provoking.
11 Now, therefore, my daughter, do not fear, whatsoever thou shalt say, I will do for thee,for all the gate of my people doth know, that, a virtuous woman, thou art.
Sabedoria e serviço
As mulheres da Bíblia foram líderes, profetisas e discípulas fiéis. Jesus honrou as mulheres e as incluiu em seu ministério.
1 And it came to pass, in due course, that he was passing through, city by city and village by village, proclaiming, and delivering the glad-message of the kingdom of God,and, the twelve, were with him;2 and certain women, who had been cured from evil spirits and infirmities,Mary, the one called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone forth,3 and Joana, wife of Chuza steward of Herod, and Susanna, and many others,who indeed were ministering unto them out of their possessions.
1 In like manner, ye wives,submitting yourselves unto your own husbands; in order that, if any are not yielding unto the word, through their wives behaviour, they may, without the word, be won,
7 Ye husbands, in like manner, dwelling with them according to knowledge,as unto a weaker vessel, unto the female
11 Wives, in the same way,dignified, not given to intrigue, sober, faithful in all things.
3 Aged women, in the same way, in deportment, as becometh sacred persons, not given to intrigue, nor yet, to much wine, enslaved, teachers of virtue,4 That they may constrain the young women to be, lovers of their husbands, lovers of their children,5 soberminded, chaste, workers at home, good, submitting themselves to their own husbands,that, the word of God, be not defamed;
