Deus tem um cuidado especial pelos órfãos. Ele se apresenta como pai dos que não têm pai e defensor dos desamparados, e ordena a seu povo que faça o mesmo.

O Senhor é pai dos órfãos e protetor das viúvas. Ele sustenta os que perderam amparo humano e cuida deles com ternura.
Sing praises to God! Sing praises to his wonderful reputation! Praise the rider of the clouds—his name is the Lord! Be happy in his presence!
He is a father to the orphans, a protector of widows. This is who God is, who lives in his holy place.
The Lord takes care of strangers among us. He looks after widows and orphans. But he makes life difficult for the wicked.
Defend the poor and orphans; support the rights of those who are oppressed and suffering.
I will not abandon you like orphans: I will come back to you.
O chamado da justiça
A religião pura é visitar órfãos e viúvas em suas aflições. Deus ordena a defesa do necessitado e o cuidado com os mais frágeis.
In the eyes of our God and Father, religion that’s pure and genuine is to visit orphans and widows in their suffering, and to keep yourself from being contaminated by the world.
Learn to do good; strive for justice, condemn those who oppress others; support the rights of orphans, take up cases to defend widows.
This is what the Lord says. Judge fairly and truthfully. Show mercy and kindness to one another. Don’t exploit those who are widowed or fatherless, foreigners or the poor. Don’t think up ways of mistreating one other.
You must not take advantage of any widow or orphan. If you mistreat them, and they call out to me for help, I will definitely respond to their cry. I will become angry, and I will kill you with the sword. Your wives will become widows and your children will be fatherless.
because I gave to the poor who called out to me and the orphans who had no one to help them. Those who were about to die blessed me; I made the widow sing for joy.
