Children and Parents

1 Children, *obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 *"Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with promise: 3 "that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth."

4 And *you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but *bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

Shun Evil Counsel

8 *My son, hear the instruction of your father,

And do not forsake the law of your mother;

Because *you are strong, and the word of God abides in you,

Do Not Love the World

15 *Do not love the world or the things in the world. *If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
