Poder
O poder de Deus opera nos que creem. A Bíblia revela que o cristão recebe poder do alto para viver, servir e vencer — não por força própria, mas pelo Espírito de Deus.
Poder do Espírito Santo
Jesus prometeu que seus seguidores receberiam poder ao descer sobre eles o Espírito Santo. Esse poder capacita para testemunho e serviço.
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit is come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
7 For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
19 Behold, I give you authority to tread over serpents and scorpions, and upon all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Poder na Palavra e na fé
A Palavra de Deus é viva e eficaz, mais cortante que espada de dois gumes. O poder não está em palavras, mas na demonstração do Espírito.
12 For the Word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
20 For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.
17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will be well.
12 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes into Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
Fortalecidos pelo Senhor
Tudo posso naquele que me fortalece. O cristão encontra poder não em si mesmo, mas na força do Senhor e na sua armadura espiritual.
13 I have strength for all things in Christ who strengthens me.
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joy;
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
39 And He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Be silent! Be muzzled! And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.40 And He said to them, Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?
