Sonhos aparecem em toda a Bíblia como meio de revelação divina. Deus falou através de sonhos a patriarcas, profetas e servos, mas também alertou contra falsos sonhadores.
Sonhos como revelação divina
Deus usou sonhos para comunicar sua vontade a homens e mulheres ao longo da história bíblica, revelando caminhos e mistérios.
Then He said,
"Hear now My words:
If there is a prophet among you,
I, the Lord, make Myself known to him in a vision;
I speak to him in a dream.
God’s Spirit Poured Out
"And it shall come to pass afterward
That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your old men shall dream dreams,
Your young men shall see visions.
Peter’s Sermon
But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, "Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
As for these four young men, God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, "Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen, and its interpretation?"
Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, "The secret which the king has demanded, the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, and the soothsayers cannot declare to the king. But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, were these:

And they said to him, "We each have had a dream, and thereis no interpreter of it."
So Joseph said to them, "Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell them to me, please."
And Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I have had a dream, and thereis no one who can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that you can understand a dream, to interpret it."
So Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, "Itis not in me; God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace."
But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."
While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him."
A Joyful Return to Zion
When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion,
We were like those who dream.

A Bíblia ensina discernimento: nem todo sonho vem de Deus. Devemos entregar nossos planos ao Senhor e confiar na direção dele.
Commit your works to the Lord,
And your thoughts will be established.
There are many plans in a man’s heart,
Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand.
Punishment of Apostates
"If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods’—which you have not known—‘and let us serve them,’ you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.
"I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying, ‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’ How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Indeed theyare prophets of the deceit of their own heart,
Behold, I am against those who prophesy false dreams," says the Lord, "and tell them, and cause My people to err by their lies and by their recklessness. Yet I did not send them or command them; therefore they shall not profit this people at all," says the Lord.
For a dream comes through much activity,
And a fool’s voice isknown by his many words.
For in the multitude of dreams and many words thereis also vanity. But fear God.
