Filhos são uma dádiva do Senhor, uma herança que Deus confia aos pais. A Bíblia celebra a maternidade e a paternidade como vocações sagradas e fontes de bênção.
Filhos: herança do Senhor
A Escritura declara que os filhos são bênção de Deus. Cada criança é um presente precioso confiado aos pais para ser cuidado com amor.
3 Behold, children are a heritage from Jehovah, the fruit of the womb is a reward.4 Like arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the sons of ones youth.5 Blessed is the man who has his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate.
3 Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine inside your house, your children like olive plants around your table.
9 He causes the barren to dwell in a house, like a joyful mother of children. Praise YAH!
28 And God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the flying creatures of the heavens, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.
Instruir nos caminhos de Deus
A Bíblia orienta os pais a instruir seus filhos nos caminhos do Senhor desde cedo, com dedicação, disciplina e exemplo.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
18 Therefore you shall fix these words of mine in your hearts and in your souls, and shall bind them as a sign on your hands, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.19 You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, that they may not become discouraged.
17 Correct your son, and he will give you rest; yea, he shall give delight to your soul.
Cada vida é preciosa
Deus conhece e forma cada criança no ventre. Antes de nascer, Ele já nos separou e preparou um propósito para cada vida.
5 Before I formed you in the belly I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I consecrated you, and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.
13 For You have possessed my inward parts; You covered me in my mothers womb.14 I will give thanks unto You, for I am awesomely and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and my soul knows it very well.15 My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
2 Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings You have ordained strength, because of Your enemies, that You might remove the enemy and the avenger.
14 But Jesus said, Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.
