Tristeza
A tristeza faz parte da experiência humana, mas a Bíblia nos assegura que Deus está perto dos que sofrem. Ele enxuga as lágrimas e transforma a dor em esperança.
Deus consola os aflitos
O Senhor está perto dos quebrantados de coração. Mesmo no vale mais escuro, sua presença é refúgio e consolo para a alma que chora.
17 They cried, and LORD heard, and delivered them out of all their troubles.18 LORD is near to those who are of a broken heart, and saves such as are of a contrite spirit.
8 LORD opens [the eyes of] the blind. LORD raises up those who are bowed down. LORD loves the righteous.
9 LORD, all my desire is before thee, and my groaning is not hid from thee.
4 Blessed are those who mourn, because they will be comforted.
5 Turn back, and say to Hezekiah the prince of my people, Thus says LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears. Behold, I will heal thee. On the third day thou shall go up to the house of LORD.
A alegria virá
A dor tem prazo de validade. A manhã de alegria sempre vem depois da noite de choro. Deus promete transformar o luto em dança.
5 For his anger is but for a moment. His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy [is] in the morning.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them.4 And he will wipe away every tear from their eyes. And there will not be any more death, nor grief, nor crying, nor will there be any more anguish, because the former things are gone.
16 They will hunger no more, nor will they thirst any more. The sun will, no, not fall upon them, nor any heat.17 Because the Lamb in the midst of the throne will tend them, and will lead them to fountains of waters of life. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
10 as grieving, but always rejoicing; as poor, but making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

O choro e o arrependimento
Há tristezas que produzem arrependimento e conduzem à vida. O choro diante de Deus é acolhido e transformado em bênção.
12 Yet even now, says LORD, turn ye to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning.
12 The vine is withered, and the fig tree languishes. The pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field are withered. For joy has withered away from the sons of men.
20 Then Job arose, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped.21 And he said, Naked I came out of my mother's womb, and naked I shall return there. LORD gave, and LORD has taken away, blessed be the name of LORD.
