Vida nova
Em Cristo, toda pessoa é transformada em uma nova criação. O velho passa e tudo se faz novo. A vida nova é o resultado da obra redentora de Jesus em nosso coração.
Morte e ressurreição com Cristo
O batismo simboliza nossa morte para o pecado e ressurreição para uma nova vida. Fomos sepultados com Cristo e ressuscitamos com Ele.
3 For do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Jesus Christ, have been baptized into his death?4 We have been buried together with him, then, through baptism into his death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so also we should live in a newness of life.
5 For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, so we shall also be united with him in the likeness of his resurrection.6 For this we know, that our old self was crucified with Christ, in order that the slave of sin might be destroyed; so that we should no longer be in slavery to sin -7 for he who is dead is set free from sin.
11 Even so count yourselves also to be dead unto sin, but alive unto God in Christ Jesus.
Nova criação
Quando aceitamos Jesus, nascemos de novo. A velha natureza dá lugar a uma identidade renovada pelo Espírito Santo.
17 So there is a new creation when any man is in Christ. The old life has passed away, behold, the new is come.
20 I have been crucified with Christ, so it is no longer I who am living, but it is Christ who is living in me; and the life I am now living in the flesh, I am living in faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me.
11 In it that new creation there is no "Greek and Jew," "circumcised and uncircumcised," "barbarian," "Scythian," "slave," "free man," but Christ is all, and in us all.
Despir o velho, vestir o novo
A vida nova se manifesta em abandonar os velhos hábitos e revestir-se do novo homem, criado segundo a vontade de Deus.
22 You have learned to lay aside, with your former manner of living, the old self who was on his way to ruin, as he followed the desires which deceive;23 and to be made new in the spirit of your mind,24 and to put on the new self, created after Gods likeness, in the uprightness and holiness of the truth.
8 But now you also must renounce them all. Anger, passion, and ill- will must be put away; slander, too, and foul talk, so that they may never soil your lips.9 Lie not one to another, but strip off the old self with its doings,10 and put on that new self which is continually made over according to the likeness of its Creator, into full understanding.
9 But if we confess our sins, faithful is he and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all wrong-doing.
Renovação interior
Deus promete dar um coração novo e um espírito novo. A transformação nasce do arrependimento e da purificação divina.
3 And among them we all once passed our lives, indulging the passions of our flesh, carrying out the dictates of our senses and temperament, and were by nature the children of wrath like all the rest.4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,5 even while we were dead in our trespasses, made us live together with Christ (it is by grace you have been saved).
