1 Diz o néscio no seu coração: Não há Deus. Os homens têm-se corrompido, fazem-se abomináveis em suas obras; não há quem faça o bem.2 O Senhor olhou do céu para os filhos dos homens, para ver se havia algum que tivesse entendimento, que buscasse a Deus.3 Desviaram-se todos e juntamente se fizeram imundos; não há quem faça o bem, não há sequer um.4 Acaso não tem conhecimento nem sequer um dos que praticam a iniqüidade, que comem o meu povo como se comessem pão, e que não invocam o Senhor?5 Achar-se-ão ali em grande pavor, porque Deus está na geração dos justos.6 Vós quereis frustar o conselho dos pobres, mas o Senhor é o seu refúgio.7 Oxalá que de Sião viesse a salvação de Israel! Quando o Senhor fizer voltar os cativos do seu povo, então se regozijará Jacó e se alegrará Israel.

1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.

They are corrupt, they have done abominable works;

There is none that doeth good.

2 Jehovah looked down from heaven upon the children of men,

To see if there were any that did understand,

That did seek after God.

3 They are all gone aside; they are together become filthy;

There is none that doeth good, no, not one.

4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge,

Who eat up my people as they eat bread,

And call not upon Jehovah?

5 There were they in great fear;

For God is in the generation of the righteous.

6 Ye put to shame the counsel of the poor,

Because Jehovah is his refuge.

7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion!

When Jehovah bringeth back the captivity of his people,

Then shall Jacob rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
