1 E toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel se reuniu em Siló, e ali armaram a tenda da congregação, depois que a terra lhes foi sujeita.2 E dentre os filhos de Israel ficaram sete tribos que ainda não tinham repartido a sua herança.3 E disse Josué aos filhos de Israel: Até quando sereis negligentes em chegardes para possuir a terra que o Senhor Deus de vossos pais vos deu?4 De cada tribo escolhei vós três homens, para que eu os envie, e eles se levantem e percorram a terra, e a demarquem segundo as suas heranças, e voltem a mim.5 E dividi-la-ão em sete partes: Judá ficará no seu termo para o sul, e a casa de José ficará no seu termo para o norte.6 E vós demarcareis a terra em sete partes, e me trareis a mim aqui descrita, para que eu aqui lance as sortes perante o Senhor nosso Deus,7 Porquanto os levitas não têm parte no meio de vós, porque o sacerdócio do Senhor é a sua parte; e Gade, e Rúben, e a meia tribo de Manassés, receberam a sua herança além do Jordão para o oriente, a qual lhes deu Moisés, o servo do Senhor.8 Então aqueles homens se levantaram e se foram; e Josué deu ordem aos que iam demarcar a terra, dizendo: Ide, e percorrei a terra, e demarcai-a, e então voltai a mim, e aqui vos lançarei as sortes perante o Senhor, em Siló.9 Foram, pois, aqueles homens, e passaram pela terra, e a demarcaram, em sete partes segundo as cidades, descrevendo-a num livro; e voltaram a Josué, ao arraial em Siló.10 Então Josué lhes lançou as sortes em Siló, perante o Senhor; e ali repartiu Josué a terra aos filhos de Israel, conforme às suas divisões.11 E tirou a sorte da tribo dos filhos de Benjamim, segundo as suas famílias; e coube-lhe o termo da sua sorte entre os filhos de Judá e os filhos de José.12 E o seu termo foi para o lado do norte, desde o Jordão; e sobe aquele termo ao lado de Jericó para o norte, e sobe pela montanha para o ocidente, terminando no deserto de Bete-Áven.13 E dali passa este termo a Luz, ao lado de Luz (que é Betel), para o sul; e desce este limite a Atarote-Adar, ao pé do monte que está do lado do sul de Bete-Horom de baixo;14 E vai este termo e volta ao lado do ocidente para o sul do monte que está defronte de Bete-Horom, para o sul, terminando em Quiriate-Baal (que é Quiriate-Jearim), cidade dos filhos de Judá; esta é a sua extensão para o ocidente.15 E a sua extensão para o sul começa na extremidade de Quiriate-Jearim; e vai este termo ao ocidente e segue até à fonte das águas de Neftoa.16 E desce este termo até à extremidade do monte que está defronte do vale do filho de Hinom, que está no vale dos refains para o norte, e desce pelo vale de Hinom do lado dos jebuseus para o sul; e então desce a En-Rogel;17 E vai desde o norte, e chega a En-Semes; e dali sai a Gelilote, que está defronte da subida de Adumim, e desce à pedra de Boã, filho de Rúben;18 E passa até ao lado, defronte de Arabá, para o norte, e desce a Arabá.19 Passa mais este termo até ao lado de Bete-Hogla, para o norte, saindo esse termo na baía do Mar Salgado, para o norte, na extremidade do Jordão, para o sul; este é o termo do sul.20 E o Jordão será seu termo do lado do oriente; esta é a herança dos filhos de Benjamim, nos seus termos em redor, segundo as suas famílias.21 E as cidades da tribo dos filhos de Benjamim, segundo as suas famílias, são: Jericó, e Bete-Hogla, e Emeque-Queziz,22 E Bete-Arabá, e Zemaraim, e Betel,23 E Avim, e Pará, e Ofra,24 E Quefar-Amonai, e Ofni e Gaba: doze cidades e as suas aldeias;25 Gibeão, e Ramá e Beerote,26 E Mizpá, e Cefira e Moza,27 E Requém e Irpeel, e Tarala,28 E Zela, Elefe, e Jebus (esta é Jerusalém), Gibeá e Quiriate: catorze cidades com as suas aldeias; esta é a herança dos filhos de Benjamim, segundo as suas famílias.

1 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up there the tabernacle of the congregation. And the land was subdued before them.2 And there remained among the children of Israel, that had not yet received their inheritance, seven tribes.3 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long will ye show yourselves slack to go to take possession of the land, which the Lord the God of your fathers hath given to you!4 Furnish for yourselves three men for each tribe; and I will send them out, and they shall arise, and walk through the land, and describe it according to their inheritance, and come again to me.5 And they shall divide it into seven parts: Judah shall remain on his boundary at the south, and the house of Joseph shall remain on their boundary at the north.6 But you shall make a description of the land in seven parts, and bring it hither to me; and I will cast the lot for you here, before the Lord our God.7 For to the Levites there is no portion among you; for the priesthood of the Lord is their inheritance; and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Menasseh have already received their inheritance beyond the Jordan, at the east, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave to them.8 And the men arose, and went away; and Joshua charged those that went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and return again to me; and here will I cast the lot for you before the Lord, in Shiloh.9 And the men went and passed through the land, and described it according to the cities in seven parts in a book; and they came again to Joshua to the camp at Shiloh.10 And Joshua cast the lot for them in Shiloh before the Lord; and Joshua divided there the land unto the children of Israel according to their divisions.11 And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families; and the boundary of their lot came forth between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.12 And their boundary was on the north side starting from the Jordan; and the boundary went up to the side of Jericho on the north, and went up through the mountains westward; and its terminations were at the wilderness of Beth–aven.13 And the boundary went over from there toward Luz, to the south side of Luz, which is Beth–el; and the boundary descended to ‘Atroth–addar, upon the mount that is on the south side of the lower Beth–choron.14 And the border extended thence, and fetched a compass to the west side, to the south of the mount that is before Beth–choron at the south; and its terminations were at Kiryath–ba’al, which is Kiryath–ye’arim, a city of the children of Judah: this was the west side.15 And the south side commenced from the end of Kiryath–ye’arim, and the boundary went out on the west, and went out to the spring of the waters of Nephtoach:16 And the boundary went down to the end of the mountain that is before the valley of the son of Hinnom, and which is in the valley of Rephaim at the north, and descended to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of the Jebusi on the south, and descended to ‘Enrogel,17 And extended northwardly, and went forth to ‘En–shemesh, and went forth toward Geliloth, which is opposite to the ascent of Adummim, and descended to Eben–bohan the son of Reuben,18 And passed along on this side opposite to ‘Arabah northward; and went down unto ‘Arabah;19 And the boundary passed along to the side of Beth–choglah northward; and the terminations of the border were at the north bay of the Salt Sea at the south end of the Jordan: this was the south boundary.20 And the Jordan bounded it on the east side. This was the inheritance of the children of Benjamin, by its boundaries round about, according to their families.21 Now these were the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families, Jericho, and Beth–choglah, and ‘Emekkeziz,22 And Beth–ha’arabah, and Zemarayim, and Beth–el,23 And Avvim, and Parah, and ‘Ophrah,24 And Kephar–ha’ammonah, and ‘Ophni, and Geba’: twelve cities with their villages.25 Gib’on, and Ramah, and Beeroth,26 And Mizpeh, and Kephirah, and Mozah,27 And Rekem, and Yirpeel, and Taralah,28 And Zela’, Eleph, and Jebusi, which is Jerusalem, Gib’ath, and Kiryath: fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.
