1 واما الازمنة والاوقات فلا حاجة لكم ايها الاخوة ان اكتب اليكم عنها.2 لانكم انتم تعلمون بالتحقيق ان يوم الرب كلص في الليل هكذا يجيء.3 لانه حينما يقولون سلام وامان حينئذ يفاجئهم هلاك بغتة كالمخاض للحبلى فلا ينجون.4 واما انتم ايها الاخوة فلستم في ظلمة حتى يدرككم ذلك اليوم كلص.5 جميعكم ابناء نور. وابناء نهار. لسنا من ليل ولا ظلمة.6 فلا ننم اذا كالباقين بل لنسهر ونصح.7 لان الذين ينامون فبالليل ينامون والذين يسكرون فبالليل يسكرون.8 واما نحن الذين من نهار فلنصح لابسين درع الايمان والمحبة وخوذة هي رجاء الخلاص.9 لان الله لم يجعلنا للغضب بل لاقتناء الخلاص بربنا يسوع المسيح10 الذي مات لاجلنا حتى اذا سهرنا او نمنا نحيا جميعا معه.11 لذلك عزوا بعضكم بعضا وابنوا احدكم الآخر كما تفعلون ايضا12 ثم نسألكم ايها الاخوة ان تعرفوا الذين يتعبون بينكم ويدبرونكم في الرب وينذرونكم13 وان تعتبروهم كثيرا جدا في المحبة من اجل عملهم. سالموا بعضكم بعضا.14 ونطلب اليكم ايها الاخوة انذروا الذين بلا ترتيب. شجعوا صغار النفوس. اسندوا الضعفاء. تأنوا على الجميع.15 انظروا ان لا يجازي احد احدا عن شر بشر بل كل حين اتبعوا الخير بعضكم لبعض وللجميع.16 افرحوا كل حين.17 صلّوا بلا انقطاع.18 اشكروا في كل شيء. لان هذه هي مشيئة الله في المسيح يسوع من جهتكم.19 لا تطفئوا الروح.20 لا تحتقروا النبوات.21 امتحنوا كل شيء. تمسكوا بالحسن.22 امتنعوا عن كل شبه شر.23 واله السلام نفسه يقدسكم بالتمام ولتحفظ روحكم ونفسكم وجسدكم كاملة بلا لوم عند مجيء ربنا يسوع المسيح.24 امين هو الذي يدعوكم الذي سيفعل ايضا25 ايها الاخوة صلّوا لاجلنا.26 سلموا على الاخوة جميعا بقبلة مقدسة.27 اناشدكم بالرب ان تقرأ هذه الرسالة على جميع الاخوة القديسين.28 نعمة ربنا يسوع المسيح معكم. آمين

1 But of the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that I write to you.2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction comes on them, as travail on a woman with child; and they shall not escape.4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.5 You are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.9 For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.11 Why comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also you do.12 And we beseech you, brothers, to know them which labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work' sake. And be at peace among yourselves.14 Now we exhort you, brothers, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.15 See that none render evil for evil to any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.16 Rejoice ever more.17 Pray without ceasing.18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.19 Quench not the Spirit.20 Despise not prophesyings.21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.24 Faithful is he that calls you, who also will do it.25 Brothers, pray for us.26 Greet all the brothers with an holy kiss.27 I charge you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the holy brothers.28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
