1 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And Jehovah showed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan, 2 and all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the hinder sea, 3 and the South, and the Plain of the valley of Jericho the city of palm-trees, unto Zoar. 4 And Jehovah said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither. 5 So Moses the servant of Jehovah died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of Jehovah. 6 And he buried him in the valley in the land of Moab over against Beth-peor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day. 7 And Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated. 8 And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping in the mourning for Moses were ended.

9 And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as Jehovah commanded Moses. 10 And there hath not arisen a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom Jehovah knew face to face, 11 in all the signs and the wonders, which Jehovah sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land, 12 and in all the mighty hand, and in all the great terror, which Moses wrought in the sight of all Israel.

1 Moise s-a suit din câmpia Moabului pe*Num. 27:12;33:47. muntele Nebo, pe vârful muntelui Pisga, în fața Ierihonului. Și Domnul i-a arătat*Cap. 32:49;3:27. toată țara: de la Galaad până*Gen. 14:14. la Dan, 2 tot ținutul lui Neftali, țara lui Efraim și Manase, toată țara lui Iuda până la Marea*Cap. 11:24. de Apus, 3 partea de miazăzi, împrejurimile Iordanului, valea Ierihonului, Cetatea*Jud. 1:16;3:13.2 Cron. 28:15. Finicilor, până la Țoar. 4 Domnul i-a zis: „Aceasta*Gen. 12:7;13:15;15:18;26:3;28:13. este țara pe care am jurat că o voi da lui Avraam, lui Isaac și lui Iacov, zicând: ‘O voi da seminței tale.’ Ți-am arătat*Cap. 3:27;32:52. ca s-o vezi cu ochii tăi, dar nu vei intra în ea." 5 Moise*Cap. 32:50.Ios. 1:1,2., robul Domnului, a murit acolo, în țara Moabului, după porunca Domnului. 6 Și Domnul l-a îngropat în vale, în țara Moabului, față în față cu Bet-Peor. Nimeni*Iuda 9. nu i-a cunoscut mormântul până în ziua de azi. 7 Moise*Cap. 31:2. era în vârstă de o sută douăzeci de ani când a murit; vederea*Gen. 27:1;48:10.Ios. 14:10,11. nu-i slăbise și puterea nu-i trecuse. 8 Copiii lui Israel au plâns pe Moise treizeci*Gen. 50:3,10.Num. 20:29. de zile în câmpia Moabului; și zilele acelea de plâns și de jale pentru Moise s-au sfârșit. 9 Iosua, fiul lui Nun, era plin*Is. 11:2.Dan. 6:3. de duhul înțelepciunii, căci Moise*Num. 27:18,23. își pusese mâinile peste el. Copiii lui Israel au ascultat de el și au făcut potrivit cu poruncile pe care le dăduse lui Moise Domnul. 10 În Israel nu s-a mai ridicat*Cap. 18:15,18. proroc ca Moise, pe care*Exod 33:11.Num. 12:6,8. Cap. 5:4. Domnul să-l fi cunoscut față în față. 11 Niciunul nu poate fi pus alături de el în ce privește toate*Cap. 4:34;7:19. semnele și minunile pe care a trimis Dumnezeu să le facă în țara Egiptului împotriva lui Faraon, împotriva supușilor lui și împotriva întregii țări, 12 și în ce privește toate semnele înfricoșătoare pe care le-a făcut Moise cu mână tare înaintea întregului Israel.
