1 And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death. 2 And he said,

Jehovah came from Sinai,

And rose from Seir unto them;

He shined forth from mount Paran,

And he came from the ten thousands of holy ones:

At his right hand was a fiery law for them.

3 Yea, he loveth the people;

All his saints are in thy hand:

And they sat down at thy feet;

Every one shall receive of thy words.

4 Moses commanded us a law,

An inheritance for the assembly of Jacob.

5 And he was king in Jeshurun,

When the heads of the people were gathered,

All the tribes of Israel together.

6 Let Reuben live, and not die;

Nor let his men be few.

7 And this is the blessing of Judah: and he said,

Hear, Jehovah, the voice of Judah,

And bring him in unto his people.

With his hands he contended for himself;

And thou shalt be a help against his adversaries.

8 And of Levi he said,

Thy Thummim and thy Urim are with thy godly one,

Whom thou didst prove at Massah,

With whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;

9 Who said of his father, and of his mother, I have not seen him;

Neither did he acknowledge his brethren,

Nor knew he his own children:

For they have observed thy word,

And keep thy covenant.

10 They shall teach Jacob thine ordinances,

And Israel thy law:

They shall put incense before thee,

And whole burnt-offering upon thine altar.

11 Bless, Jehovah, his substance,

And accept the work of his hands:

Smite through the loins of them that rise up against him,

And of them that hate him, that they rise not again.

12 Of Benjamin he said,

The beloved of Jehovah shall dwell in safety by him;

He covereth him all the day long,

And he dwelleth between his shoulders.

13 And of Joseph he said,

Blessed of Jehovah be his land,

For the precious things of heaven, for the dew,

And for the deep that coucheth beneath,

14 And for the precious things of the fruits of the sun,

And for the precious things of the growth of the moons,

15 And for the chief things of the ancient mountains,

And for the precious things of the everlasting hills,

16 And for the precious things of the earth and the fulness thereof,

And the good will of him that dwelt in the bush.

Let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph,

And upon the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

17 The firstling of his herd, majesty is his;

And his horns are the horns of the wild-ox:

With them he shall push the peoples all of them, even the ends of the earth:

And they are the ten thousands of Ephraim,

And they are the thousands of Manasseh.

18 And of Zebulun he said,

Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out;

And, Issachar, in thy tents.

19 They shall call the peoples unto the mountain;

There shall they offer sacrifices of righteousness:

For they shall suck the abundance of the seas,

And the hidden treasures of the sand.

20 And of Gad he said,

Blessed be he that enlargeth Gad:

He dwelleth as a lioness,

And teareth the arm, yea, the crown of the head.

21 And he provided the first part for himself,

For there was the lawgiver’s portion reserved;

And he came with the heads of the people;

He executed the righteousness of Jehovah,

And his ordinances with Israel.

22 And of Dan he said,

Dan is a lion’s whelp,

That leapeth forth from Bashan.

23 And of Naphtali he said,

O Naphtali, satisfied with favor,

And full with the blessing of Jehovah,

Possess thou the west and the south.

24 And of Asher he said,

Blessed be Asher with children;

Let him be acceptable unto his brethren,

And let him dip his foot in oil.

25 Thy bars shall be iron and brass;

And as thy days, so shall thy strength be.

26 There is none like unto God, O Jeshurun,

Who rideth upon the heavens for thy help,

And in his excellency on the skies.

27 The eternal God is thy dwelling-place,

And underneath are the everlasting arms.

And he thrust out the enemy from before thee,

And said, Destroy.

28 And Israel dwelleth in safety,

The fountain of Jacob alone,

In a land of grain and new wine;

Yea, his heavens drop down dew.

29 Happy art thou, O Israel:

Who is like unto thee, a people saved by Jehovah,

The shield of thy help,

And the sword of thy excellency!

And thine enemies shall submit themselves unto thee;

And thou shalt tread upon their high places.

2 El a zis:

Și a răsărit peste ei din Seir,

A strălucit din muntele Paran

Și a ieșit din mijlocul zecilor de mii*Ps. 68:17.Dan. 7:10.Fapte 7:53.Gal. 3:19.Evr. 2:2.Apoc. 5:11;9:16. de sfinți,

Având în dreapta Lui focul legii.

3 Da, El iubește*Exod 19:5. Cap. 7:7,8.Ps. 47:4.Osea 11:1.Mal. 1:2. popoarele;

Toți*Cap. 7:6.1 Sam. 2:9.Ps. 50:5. sfinții sunt în mâna Ta.

Ei au stat*Luca 10:39.Fapte 22:3. la picioarele Tale,

Au primit*Prov. 2:1. cuvintele Tale.

4 Moise*Ioan 1:17;7:19. ne-a dat legea,

Moștenirea*Ps. 119:111. adunării lui Iacov.

5 El era împărat*Gen. 36:31.Jud. 9:2;17:6. în Israel*Cap. 32:15.

Când se adunau căpeteniile poporului

Și semințiile lui Israel.

6 Trăiască Ruben și să nu moară

Și bărbații lui să fie mulți la număr!"

7 Iată ce a zis despre Iuda:

„Ascultă, Doamne, glasul lui Iuda

Și adu-l la poporul lui.

Puternice să-i fie mâinile*Gen. 49:8.

Și să-i fii ajutor*Ps. 146:5. împotriva vrăjmașilor lui!"

8 Despre Levi a zis:

„Tumim*Exod 28:30. și Urim au fost încredințați bărbatului sfânt

Pe care l-ai*Exod 17:7.Num. 20:13. Cap. 8:2,3,16.Ps. 81:7. ispitit la Masa

Și cu care Te-ai certat la apele Meriba.

9 Levi a zis despre tatăl său și despre mama sa: ‘Nu i-am văzut!’

Și despre frații lui: ‘Nu vă*Exod 32:26-28. cunosc!’

Iar de copii n-a vrut să mai știe.

Căci ei păzesc*Ier. 18:18.Mal. 2:5,6. Cuvântul Tău

Și țin legământul Tău; 10 Ei învață*Lev. 10:11. Cap. 17:9-11;24:8.Ezec. 44:23,24.Mal. 2:7. pe Iacov poruncile Tale

Și pe Israel, legea Ta;

Ei pun*Exod 30:7,8.Num. 16:40.1 Sam. 2:28. tămâie sub nările Tale

Și ardere-de-tot*Lev. 1:9,13,17.Ps. 51:19.Ezec. 43:27. pe altarul Tău.

11 Binecuvântează tăria lui, Doamne!

Primește lucrarea*2 Sam. 24:23.Ps. 20:3.Ezec. 20:40,41;43:27. mâinilor lui!

Frânge șalele potrivnicilor lui

Și vrăjmașii lui să nu se mai scoale!"

12 Despre Beniamin a zis:

„El este preaiubitul Domnului,

El va locui la adăpost lângă Dânsul.

Domnul îl va ocroti totdeauna

Și se va odihni între umerii Lui."

13 Despre Iosif a zis:

„Țara lui va primi de la Domnul, ca semn de binecuvântare*Gen. 49:25.,

Cel mai bun dar al cerului, roua*Gen. 27:28.,

Cele mai bune ape care sunt jos,

14 Cele mai bune roade ale soarelui,

Cele mai bune roade ale fiecărei luni,

15 Cele mai bune roade din munții*Gen. 49:26. cei vechi,

Cele mai bune roade de pe dealurile*Hab. 3:6. cele veșnice,

16 Cele mai bune roade ale pământului și din tot ce cuprinde el.

Bunăvoința*Exod 3:2,4.Fapte 7:30,35. Celui ce S-a arătat în rug

Să vină peste capul*Gen. 49:26. lui Iosif,

Pe creștetul capului domnului fraților lui!

17 El are frumusețea întâiului născut*1 Cron. 5:1. al taurului;

Coarnele*Num. 23:22.Ps. 92:10. lui sunt cum sunt coarnele bivolului;

Cu ele va împunge*1 Împ. 22:11.Ps. 44:5. pe toate popoarele,

Până la marginile pământului:

Ele sunt zecile de*Gen. 48:19. mii ale lui Efraim,

Ele sunt miile lui Manase."

18 Despre Zabulon a zis:

„Bucură-te*Gen. 49:13-15., Zabuloane, de alergările tale

Și tu, Isahar, de corturile tale!

19 Ei vor chema*Is. 2:3. popoarele pe munte;

Acolo vor*Ps. 4:5. aduce jertfe de dreptate,

Căci vor suge bogăția mării

Și comorile ascunse în nisip."

20 Despre Gad a zis:

„Binecuvântat să fie cine lărgește pe Gad*Ios. 13:8.1 Cron. 12:8.!

Gad se odihnește ca un leu

și sfâșie la brațe și capete.

21 El a ales*Num. 32:16,17. cea dintâi parte a țării,

Căci acolo stă ascunsă moștenirea legiuitorului;

El a mers cu fruntașii*Ios. 4:12. poporului,

A adus la îndeplinire dreptatea Domnului

Și poruncile Lui față de Israel."

22 Despre Dan a zis:

„Dan este un pui de leu

Care se aruncă*Ios. 19:47.Jud. 18:27. din Basan."

23 Despre Neftali a zis:

„Neftali, sătul*Gen. 49:21. de bunăvoință

Și copleșit cu binecuvântări de la Domnul,

Ia în stăpânire partea de*Ios. 19:32. apus și miazăzi!"

24 Despre Așer a zis:

„Binecuvântat*Gen. 49:20. să fie Așer între copiii lui Israel!

Plăcut să fie fraților lui

Și să-și înmoaie*Iov 29:6. piciorul în untdelemn!

25 Zăvoarele tale să fie de fier și de aramă*Cap. 8:9.

Și puterea ta să țină cât zilele tale!

26 Nimeni*Exod 15:11.Ps. 86:8.Ier. 10:6. nu este ca Dumnezeul lui Israel*Cap. 32:15.,

El trece pe ceruri ca să-ți vină în ajutor,

Trece*Ps. 68:4,33,34;104:3.Hab. 3:8. cu măreție pe nori.

27 Dumnezeul cel veșnic este un loc de adăpost*Ps. 90:1.

Și sub brațele Lui cele veșnice este un loc de scăpare.

El a izgonit*Cap. 9:3-5. pe vrăjmaș dinaintea ta

Și a zis: ‘Nimicește-l.’

28 Israel*Num. 23:9.Ier. 23:6;33:16. este fără frică în locuința lui,

Izvorul*Cap. 8:7,8. lui Iacov este deoparte,

Într-o țară plină de grâu și de must,

Și cerul*Gen. 27:28. Cap. 11:11. lui picură roua.

29 Ferice*Ps. 144:15. de tine, Israele! Cine*2 Sam. 7:23. este ca tine,

Un popor mântuit de Domnul,

Scutul*Ps. 115:9-11. care îți dă ajutor

Și sabia care te face slăvit?

Vrăjmașii tăi vor face pe prietenii*2 Sam. 22:45.Ps. 18:44;66:3;81:15. înaintea ta,

Și tu*Cap. 32:13. vei călca peste înălțimile lor."
