1 All the commandment which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which Jehovah sware unto your fathers. 2 And thou shalt remember all the way which Jehovah thy God hath led thee these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble thee, to prove thee, to know what was in thy heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or not. 3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by everything that proceedeth out of the mouth of Jehovah doth man live. 4 Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years. 5 And thou shalt consider in thy heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so Jehovah thy God chasteneth thee. 6 And thou shalt keep the commandments of Jehovah thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him. 7 For Jehovah thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing forth in valleys and hills; 8 a land of wheat and barley, and vines and fig-trees and pomegranates; a land of olive-trees and honey; 9 a land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack anything in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig copper. 10 And thou shalt eat and be full, and thou shalt bless Jehovah thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.

11 Beware lest thou forget Jehovah thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his ordinances, and his statutes, which I command thee this day: 12 lest, when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein; 13 and when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied; 14 then thy heart be lifted up, and thou forget Jehovah thy God, who brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage; 15 who led thee through the great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents and scorpions, and thirsty ground where was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint; 16 who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not; that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end: 17 and lest thou say in thy heart, My power and the might of my hand hath gotten me this wealth. 18 But thou shalt remember Jehovah thy God, for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth; that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as at this day. 19 And it shall be, if thou shalt forget Jehovah thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish. 20 As the nations that Jehovah maketh to perish before you, so shall ye perish; because ye would not hearken unto the voice of Jehovah your God.

Cap. 13:3., ca să-ți*2 Cron. 32:31.Ioan 2:25. cunoască pornirile inimii și să vadă dacă ai să păzești sau nu poruncile Lui. 3 Astfel, te-a smerit, te-a lăsat*Exod 16:2,3. să suferi de foame și te-a hrănit*Exod 16:12,14,35. cu mană, pe care nici tu n-o cunoșteai și nici părinții tăi n-o cunoscuseră, ca să te învețe că omul nu trăiește*Ps. 104:29.Mat. 4:4.Luca 4:4. numai cu pâine, ci cu orice lucru care iese din gura Domnului trăiește omul. 4 Haina*Cap. 29:5.Neem. 9:21. nu ți s-a învechit pe tine și nici nu ți s-au umflat picioarele în timpul acestor patruzeci de ani. 5 Recunoaște*2 Sam. 7:14.Ps. 89:32.Prov. 3:12.Evr. 12:5,6.Apoc. 3:19. dar în inima ta că Domnul Dumnezeul tău te mustră cum mustră un om pe copilul lui. 6 Să păzești poruncile Domnului Dumnezeului tău, ca*Cap. 5:33. să umbli în căile Lui, și să te temi de El. 7 Căci Domnul Dumnezeul tău are să te ducă într-o țară*Cap. 11:10-12. bună, țară cu pâraie de apă, cu izvoare și cu lacuri, care țâșnesc din văi și munți; 8 țară cu grâu, cu orz, cu vii, cu smochini și cu rodii; țară cu măslini și cu miere; 9 țară unde vei mânca pâine din belșug, unde nu vei duce lipsă de nimic; țară*Cap. 33:25. ale cărei pietre sunt de fier și din ai cărei munți vei scoate aramă. 10 Când*Cap. 6:11,12. vei mânca și te vei sătura, să binecuvântezi pe Domnul Dumnezeul tău pentru țara cea bună pe care ți-a dat-o. 11 Vezi să nu uiți pe Domnul Dumnezeul tău, până acolo încât să nu păzești poruncile, rânduielile și legile Lui, pe care ți le dau azi. 12 Când vei mânca*Cap. 28:47;32:15.Prov. 30:9.Osea 13:6. și te vei sătura, când vei zidi și vei locui în case frumoase, 13 când vei vedea înmulțindu-ți-se cirezile de boi și turmele de oi, mărindu-ți-se argintul și aurul și crescându-ți tot ce ai, 14 ia seama să nu ți se umfle inima*1 Cor. 4:7. de mândrie și să nu*Ps. 106:21. uiți pe Domnul Dumnezeul tău, care te-a scos din țara Egiptului, din casa robiei, 15 care te-a*Is. 63:12-14.Ier. 2:6. dus în acea pustie mare și grozavă, unde erau șerpi*Num. 21:6.Osea 13:5. înfocați și scorpioni, în locuri uscate și fără apă, care a făcut să-ți țâșnească*Num. 20:11.Ps. 78:15;114:8. apă din stânca cea mai tare 16 și care ți-a dat să mănânci în pustie mana*Vers. 3.Exod 16:15. aceea necunoscută de părinții tăi, ca să te smerească și să te încerce și să-ți facă*Ier. 24:5,6.Evr. 12:11. bine apoi. 17 Vezi să*Cap. 9:4.1 Cor. 4:7. nu zici în inima ta: ‘Tăria mea și puterea mâinii mele mi-au câștigat aceste bogății.’ 18 Ci adu-ți aminte de Domnul Dumnezeul tău, căci El*Prov. 10:22.Osea 2:8. îți va da putere să le câștigi, ca să*Cap. 7:8,12. întărească legământul încheiat cu părinții voștri prin jurământ, cum face astăzi. 19 Dacă vei uita pe Domnul Dumnezeul tău și vei merge după alți dumnezei, dacă le vei sluji și te vei închina înaintea lor, vă*Cap. 4:26;30:18. spun hotărât azi că veți pieri. 20 Veți pieri ca*Dan. 9:11,12. și neamurile pe care le-a pierdut Domnul dinaintea voastră, pentru că nu veți asculta glasul Domnului Dumnezeului vostru.
