1 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for by a strong hand shall he let them go, and by a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.

2 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am Jehovah: 3 and I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as God Almighty; but by my name Jehovah I was not known to them. 4 And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their sojournings, wherein they sojourned. 5 And moreover I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant. 6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am Jehovah, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments: 7 and I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah your God, who bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. 8 And I will bring you in unto the land which I sware to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for a heritage: I am Jehovah. 9 And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.

10 And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, 11 Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land. 12 And Moses spake before Jehovah, saying, Behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips? 13 And Jehovah spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, and gave them a charge unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

14 These are the heads of their fathers’ houses. The sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi; these are the families of Reuben. 15 And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman; these are the families of Simeon. 16 And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari; and the years of the life of Levi were a hundred thirty and seven years. 17 The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, according to their families. 18 And the sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel; and the years of the life of Kohath were a hundred thirty and three years. 19 And the sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their generations. 20 And Amram took him Jochebed his father’s sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses: and the years of the life of Amram were a hundred and thirty and seven years. 21 And the sons of Izhar: Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri. 22 And the sons of Uzziel: Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Sithri. 23 And Aaron took him Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab, the sister of Nahshon, to wife; and she bare him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. 24 And the sons of Korah: Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites. 25 And Eleazar Aaron’s son took him one of the daughters of Putiel to wife; and she bare him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites according to their families. 26 These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom Jehovah said, Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their hosts. 27 These are they that spake to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt: these are that Moses and Aaron.

28 And it came to pass on the day when Jehovah spake unto Moses in the land of Egypt, 29 that Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, I am Jehovah: speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I speak unto thee. 30 And Moses said before Jehovah, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me?

1 Domnul a zis lui Moise: „Vei vedea acum ce voi face lui Faraon: o mână puternică*Cap. 3:19. îl va sili să-i lase să plece; da, o mână puternică îl va sili să-i izgonească*Cap. 11:1;12:31,33,39. din țara lui." 2 Dumnezeu a mai vorbit lui Moise și i-a zis: „Eu sunt Domnul. 3 Eu M-am arătat lui Avraam, lui Isaac și lui Iacov ca Dumnezeul*Gen. 17:1;35:11;48:3. cel Atotputernic, dar n-am fost cunoscut de ei sub Numele Meu ca ‘Domnul’*Cap. 3:14.Ps. 68:4;83:18.Ioan 8:58.Apoc. 1:4.. 4 De asemenea, Mi-am*Gen. 15:18;17:4,7. încheiat legământul Meu cu ei ca să*Gen. 17:8;28:4. le dau țara Canaan, țara călătoriilor lor sfinte, în care au locuit ca străini. 5 Acum însă am*Cap. 2:24. auzit gemetele copiilor lui Israel, pe care-i țin egiptenii în robie, și Mi-am adus aminte de legământul Meu. 6 De aceea, spune copiilor lui Israel: ‘Eu*Vers. 2,8,29. sunt Domnul. Eu vă voi*Cap. 3:17;7:4.Deut. 26:8.Ps. 81:6;136:11,12. izbăvi din muncile cu care vă apasă egiptenii, vă voi izbăvi din robia lor și vă voi scăpa*Cap. 15:13.Deut. 7:8.1 Cron. 17:21.Neem. 1:10. cu braț întins și cu mari judecăți. 7 Vă voi*Deut. 4:20;7:6;14:2;26:18.2 Sam. 7:24. lua ca popor al Meu; Eu voi*Gen. 17:7,8. Cap. 29:45,46.Deut. 29:13.Apoc. 21:7. fi Dumnezeul vostru și veți cunoaște că Eu, Domnul Dumnezeul vostru, vă izbăvesc de muncile*Cap. 5:4,5.Ps. 81:6. cu care vă apasă egiptenii. 8 Eu vă voi duce în țara pe care am jurat*Gen. 15:18;26:3;28:13;35:12. că o voi da lui Avraam, lui Isaac și lui Iacov; Eu vă voi da-o în stăpânire; Eu, Domnul.’" 9 Astfel a vorbit Moise copiilor lui Israel. Dar deznădejdea și robia aspră în care se aflau i-au împiedicat*Cap. 5:21. să-l asculte pe Moise. 10 Domnul a vorbit lui Moise și a zis: 11 „Du-te de vorbește lui Faraon, împăratul Egiptului, să lase pe copiii lui Israel să iasă din țara lui." 12 Moise a răspuns în fața Domnului: „Iată că nici copiii lui Israel nu m-au*Vers. 9. ascultat. Cum are să m-asculte Faraon pe mine*Vers. 30. Cap. 4:10.Ier. 1:6., care n-am o vorbire ușoară?" 13 Domnul a vorbit lui Moise și lui Aaron și le-a dat porunci cu privire la copiii lui Israel și cu privire la Faraon, împăratul Egiptului, ca să scoată din țara Egiptului pe copiii lui Israel.

14 Iată căpeteniile familiilor lor.

Fiii*Gen. 46:9.1 Cron. 5:3. lui Ruben, întâiul născut al lui Israel: Enoh, Palu, Hețron și Carmi. Acestea sunt familiile lui Ruben. 15 Fiii lui Simeon*Gen. 46:10.1 Cron. 4:24.: Iemuel, Iamin, Ohad, Iachin și Țohar; și Saul, fiu născut dintr-o femeie canaanită. Anii vieții lui Chehat au fost o sută treizeci și trei de ani. 19 Fiii lui Merari*1 Cron. 6:19;23:21.: Mahli și Muși. Acestea sunt familiile lui Levi, după spița neamului lor. 20 Amram*Cap. 2:1,2.Num. 26:59. a luat de nevastă pe mătușă-sa Iochebed și ea i-a născut pe Aaron și pe Moise. Anii vieții lui Amram au fost o sută treizeci și șapte de ani. 21 Fiii lui*Num. 16:1.1 Cron. 6:37,38. Ițehar: Core, Nefeg și Zicri. 22 Fiii lui*Lev. 10:4.Num. 3:30. Uziel: Mișael, Elțafan și Sitri. 23 Aaron a luat de nevastă pe Elișeba, fata lui Aminadab*Rut 4:19,20.1 Cron. 2:10.Mat. 1:4., sora lui Nahșon, și ea i-a născut pe Nadab*Lev. 10:1.Num. 3:2;26:60.1 Cron. 6:3;24:1., Abihu, Eleazar și Itamar. 24 Fiii lui*Num. 26:11. Core: Asir, Elcana și Abiasaf. Acestea sunt familiile coriților. 25 Eleazar, fiul lui Aaron, a luat de nevastă pe una din fetele lui Putiel, și ea*Num. 25:7,11.Ios. 24:33. l-a născut pe Fineas. Aceștia sunt Moise acela și Aaron acela. 28 Când a vorbit Domnul lui Moise în țara Egiptului, 29 Domnul a zis lui Moise: „Eu*Vers. 2. sunt Domnul. Spune*Vers. 11. Cap. 7:2. lui Faraon, împăratul Egiptului, tot ce-ți spun." 30 Și Moise a răspuns înaintea Domnului: „Iată că eu*Cap. 4:10. Vers. 12. nu vorbesc ușor. Cum are să m-asculte Faraon?"
