1 O foolish Galatians, who did bewitch you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly set forth crucified? 2 This only would I learn from you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now perfected in the flesh? 4 Did ye suffer so many things in vain? if it be indeed in vain. 5 He therefore that supplieth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness. 7 Know therefore that they that are of faith, the same are sons of Abraham. 8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all the nations be blessed. 9 So then they that are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham. 10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one who continueth not in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them. 11 Now that no man is justified by the law before God, is evident: for, The righteous shall live by faith; 12 and the law is not of faith; but, He that doeth them shall live in them. 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 that upon the Gentiles might come the blessing of Abraham in Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men: Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet when it hath been confirmed, no one maketh it void, or addeth thereto. 16 Now to Abraham were the promises spoken, and to his seed. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. 17 Now this I say: A covenant confirmed beforehand by God, the law, which came four hundred and thirty years after, doth not disannul, so as to make the promise of none effect. 18 For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no more of promise: but God hath granted it to Abraham by promise. 19 What then is the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise hath been made; and it was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator. 20 Now a mediator is not a mediator of one; but God is one. 21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could make alive, verily righteousness would have been of the law. 22 But the scripture shut up all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

23 But before faith came, we were kept in ward under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 24 So that the law is become our tutor to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But now that faith is come, we are no longer under a tutor. 26 For ye are all sons of God, through faith, in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ did put on Christ. 28 There can be neither Jew nor Greek, there can be neither bond nor free, there can be no male and female; for ye all are one man in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye are Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, heirs according to promise.

După ce ați început*Cap. 4:9. prin Duhul, vreți acum să sfârșiți prin firea pământească*Evr. 7:16;9:10.? 4 În zadar*Evr. 10:35,36.2 Ioan 8. ați suferit voi atât de mult? Dacă, în adevăr, e în zadar! 5 Cel ce*1 Cor. 3:8. vă dă Duhul și face minuni printre voi le face oare prin faptele Legii sau prin auzirea credinței? 6 Tot așa și „Avraam*Gen. 15:6.Rom. 4:3,9,21,22.Iac. 2:23. a crezut pe Dumnezeu, și credința aceasta i-a fost socotită ca neprihănire". 7 Înțelegeți și voi dar că fii ai lui Avraam sunt cei*Ioan 8:39.Rom. 4:11,12,16. ce au credință. 8 Scriptura, de asemenea, fiindcă prevedea*Rom. 9:17. Vers. 22. că Dumnezeu va socoti neprihănite pe neamuri prin credință, a vestit mai dinainte lui Avraam această veste bună: „Toate neamurile vor fi binecuvântate în*Gen. 12:3.Gen. 18:18;22:18.Fapte 3:25. tine." 9 Așa că cei ce se bizuiesc pe credință sunt binecuvântați împreună cu Avraam cel credincios. 10 Căci toți cei ce se bizuiesc pe faptele Legii sunt sub blestem, pentru că este scris: „Blestemat*Deut. 27:26.Ier. 11:3. este oricine nu stăruiește în toate lucrurile scrise în cartea Legii, ca să le facă." 11 Și că*Cap. 2:16. nimeni nu este socotit neprihănit înaintea lui Dumnezeu prin Lege este învederat, căci „cel*Hab. 2:4.Rom. 1:17.Evr. 10:38. neprihănit prin credință va trăi". 12 Însă*Rom. 4:4,5;10:5,6;11:6. Legea nu se întemeiază pe credință, ci ea zice: „Cine*Lev. 18:5.Neem. 9:29.Ezec. 20:11.Rom. 10:5. va face aceste lucruri va trăi prin ele." 13 Hristos*Rom. 8:3.2 Cor. 5:21. Cap. 4:5. ne-a răscumpărat din blestemul Legii, făcându-Se blestem pentru noi, fiindcă este scris: „Blestemat*Deut. 21:23. e oricine este atârnat pe lemn", 14 pentru ca*Rom. 4:9,16. binecuvântarea vestită lui Avraam să vină peste neamuri în Hristos Isus, așa ca, prin credință, noi să primim Duhul*Is. 32:15;44:3.Ier. 31:33;32:40.Ezec. 11:19;36:27.Ioel 2:28,29.Zah. 12:10.Ioan 7:39.Fapte 2:33. făgăduit.

15 Fraților (vorbesc în felul oamenilor), un testament*Evr. 9:17., chiar al unui om, odată întărit, totuși nimeni nu-l desființează, nici nu-i mai adaugă ceva. 16 Acum, făgăduințele au fost făcute „lui*Gen. 12:3,7;17:7. Vers. 8. Avraam și seminței lui". Nu zice: „Și semințelor" (ca și cum ar fi vorba de mai multe), ci ca și cum ar fi vorba numai de una: „Și seminței tale", adică Hristos*1 Cor. 12:12.. 17 Iată ce vreau să zic: un testament pe care l-a întărit Dumnezeu mai înainte nu poate fi desființat*Exod 12:40,41., așa ca făgăduința să fie nimicită de Legea venită*Rom. 4:13,14. Vers. 21. după patru sute treizeci de ani. 18 Căci dacă moștenirea*Rom. 8:17. ar veni din Lege, nu*Rom. 4:14. mai vine din făgăduință; și Dumnezeu printr-o făgăduință a dat-o lui Avraam. 19 Atunci pentru ce este Legea? Ea*Ioan 15:22.Rom. 4:15;5:20;7:8,13.1 Tim. 1:9. a fost adăugată din pricina călcărilor de lege, până când avea să vină „Sămânța"*Vers. 16., căreia Îi fusese făcută făgăduința; și a fost dată*Fapte 7:53.Evr. 2:2. prin îngeri, prin mâna unui mijlocitor*Exod 20:19,21,22.Deut. 5:2,22,23,27,31.Ioan 1:17.Fapte 7:38.1 Tim. 2:5.. 20 Dar mijlocitorul nu este mijlocitorul unei singure părți, pe când*Rom. 3:29,30. Dumnezeu este unul singur. 21 Atunci oare Legea este împotriva făgăduințelor lui Dumnezeu? Nicidecum! Dacă*Cap. 2:21. s-ar fi dat o Lege care să poată da viața, într-adevăr, neprihănirea ar veni din Lege. 22 Dar Scriptura a*Vers. 8. închis totul*Rom. 3:9,19,23.Rom. 11:32. sub păcat, pentru ca*Rom. 4:11,12,16. făgăduința să fie dată celor ce cred, prin credința în Isus Hristos. 23 Înainte de venirea credinței, noi eram sub paza Legii, închiși pentru credința care trebuia să fie descoperită. 24 Astfel, Legea*Mat. 5:17.Rom. 10:4.Col. 2:17.Evr. 9:9,10. ne-a fost un îndrumător*3:24 Grecește: pedagog. spre Hristos, ca*Fapte 13:39. Cap. 2:16. să fim socotiți neprihăniți prin credință. 25 După ce a venit credința, nu mai suntem sub îndrumătorul acesta. 26 Căci toți*Ioan 1:12.Rom. 8:14-16. Cap. 4:5.1 Ioan 3:1,2. sunteți fii ai lui Dumnezeu prin credința în Hristos Isus. 27 Toți*Rom. 6:3. care ați fost botezați pentru Hristos v-ați îmbrăcat cu*Rom. 13:14. Hristos. 28 Nu*Rom. 10:12.1 Cor. 12:13. Cap. 5:6.Col. 3:11. mai este nici iudeu, nici grec; nu mai este nici rob, nici slobod; nu mai este nici parte bărbătească, nici parte femeiască, fiindcă toți sunteți una*Ioan 10:16;17:20,21.Efes. 2:14-16;4:4,15. în Hristos Isus. 29 Și dacă*Gen. 21:10,12.Rom. 9:7.Evr. 11:18. sunteți ai lui Hristos, sunteți „sămânța" lui Avraam, moștenitori*Rom. 8:17.
