1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. 2 Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winevat? 3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the peoples there was no man with me: yea, I trod them in mine anger, and trampled them in my wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled upon my garments, and I have stained all my raiment. 4 For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. 5 And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my wrath, it upheld me. 6 And I trod down the peoples in mine anger, and made them drunk in my wrath, and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth.

7 I will make mention of the lovingkindnesses of Jehovah, and the praises of Jehovah, according to all that Jehovah hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses. 8 For he said, Surely, they are my people, children that will not deal falsely: so he was their Saviour. 9 In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.

10 But they rebelled, and grieved his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them. 11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit in the midst of them? 12 that caused his glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses? that divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name? 13 that led them through the depths, as a horse in the wilderness, so that they stumbled not? 14 As the cattle that go down into the valley, the Spirit of Jehovah caused them to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.

15 Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where are thy zeal and thy mighty acts? the yearning of thy heart and thy compassions are restrained toward me. 16 For thou art our Father, though Abraham knoweth us not, and Israel doth not acknowledge us: thou, O Jehovah, art our Father; our Redeemer from everlasting is thy name. 17 O Jehovah, why dost thou make us to err from thy ways, and hardenest our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants’ sake, the tribes of thine inheritance. 18 Thy holy people possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary. 19 We are become as they over whom thou never barest rule, as they that were not called by thy name.

Cap. 59:16. Meu Mi-a fost într-ajutor și urgia mea M-a sprijinit! 6 Am călcat astfel în picioare popoare în mânia Mea, le-am*Apoc. 16:16. îmbătat în urgia Mea și le-am vărsat sângele pe pământ."

7 Voi vesti îndurările Domnului, faptele Lui minunate, după tot ce a făcut Domnul pentru noi! Voi spune marea Lui bunătate față de casa lui Israel, căci i-a făcut după îndurările și bogăția dragostei Lui. 8 El a zis: „Negreșit, ei sunt poporul Meu, niște copii care nu vor fi necredincioși!" Și astfel El S-a făcut Mântuitorul lor. 9 În toate necazurile*Jud. 10:16.Zah. 2:8.Fapte 9:4. lor, n-au fost fără ajutor și Îngerul*Exod 14:19;23:20,21;33:14.Mal. 3:1.Fapte 12:11. care este înaintea Feței Lui i-a mântuit; El Însuși i-a răscumpărat, în dragostea*Deut. 7:7,8. și îndurarea Lui, și necurmat i-a sprijinit*Exod 19:4.Deut. 1:31;32:11,12. Cap. 46:3,4. și i-a purtat în zilele din vechime. 10 Dar ei au fost neascultători*Exod 15:24.Num. 14:11.Ps. 78:56;95:9. și au întristat*Ps. 78:40.Fapte 7:51.Efes. 4:30. pe Duhul Lui cel sfânt, iar El li S-a făcut*Exod 23:21. vrăjmaș și a luptat împotriva lor. 11 Atunci poporul Său și-a adus aminte de zilele străvechi ale lui Moise și a zis: „Unde este Acela care i-a scos din mare*Exod 14:30;32:11,12.Num. 14:13.Ier. 2:6., cu păstorul turmei Sale? Unde este Acela care punea*Num. 11:17,25.Neem. 9:20.Dan. 4:8.Hag. 2:5. în mijlocul lor Duhul Lui cel sfânt; 12 care povățuia dreapta lui Moise, cu brațul Său cel*Exod 15:6. slăvit, care despica*Exod 14:21.Ios. 3:16. apele înaintea lor, ca să-Și facă un Nume veșnic, 13 care îi călăuzea*Ps. 106:9. prin valuri ca un cal pe loc neted, fără ca ei să se poticnească?" 14 Ca fiara care se coboară în vale, așa i-a dus Duhul Domnului la odihnă. Așa ai povățuit Tu pe poporul Tău, ca*2 Sam. 7:23. să-Ți faci un Nume plin de slavă! 15 Privește*Deut. 26:15.Ps. 80:14. din cer și vezi, din locuința*Ps. 33:14. Ta cea sfântă și slăvită: Unde sunt râvna și puterea Ta? Fiorul inimii Tale*Ier. 31:20.Osea 11:8. și îndurările Tale nu se mai arată față de mine! 16 Totuși*Deut. 32:6.1 Cron. 29:10. Cap. 64:8. Tu ești Tatăl nostru! Căci Avraam nu*Iov 14:21.Ecl. 9:5. ne cunoaște, și Israel nu știe cine suntem, dar Tu, Doamne, ești Tatăl nostru, Tu din veșnicie Te numești Mântuitorul nostru. 17 Pentru ce, Doamne, ne lași*Ps. 119:10. să rătăcim de la căile Tale și ne împietrești*Cap. 6:10.Ioan 12:40.Rom. 9:18. inima ca să nu ne temem de Tine? Întoarce-Te*Num. 10:36.Ps. 90:13., din dragoste pentru robii Tăi, pentru semințiile moștenirii Tale! 18 Poporul Tău cel*Deut. 7:6;26:19. Cap. 62:12.Dan. 8:24. sfânt n-a stăpânit țara decât puțină vreme; vrăjmașii noștri*Ps. 74:7. au călcat în picioare Locașul Tău cel Sfânt. 19 Am ajuns ca un popor pe care niciodată nu l-ai cârmuit Tu și peste care niciodată nu s-a chemat Numele Tău…
