1 Yea, at this my heart trembleth,

And is moved out of its place.

2 Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice,

And the sound that goeth out of his mouth.

3 He sendeth it forth under the whole heaven,

And his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

4 After it a voice roareth;

He thundereth with the voice of his majesty;

And he restraineth not the lightnings when his voice is heard.

5 God thundereth marvellously with his voice;

Great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

6 For he saith to the snow, Fall thou on the earth;

Likewise to the shower of rain,

And to the showers of his mighty rain.

7 He sealeth up the hand of every man,

That all men whom he hath made may know it.

8 Then the beasts go into coverts,

And remain in their dens.

9 Out of the chamber of the south cometh the storm,

And cold out of the north.

10 By the breath of God ice is given;

And the breadth of the waters is straitened.

11 Yea, he ladeth the thick cloud with moisture;

He spreadeth abroad the cloud of his lightning:

12 And it is turned round about by his guidance,

That they may do whatsoever he commandeth them

Upon the face of the habitable world,

13 Whether it be for correction, or for his land,

Or for lovingkindness, that he cause it to come.

14 Hearken unto this, O Job:

Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

15 Dost thou know how God layeth his charge upon them,

And causeth the lightning of his cloud to shine?

16 Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds,

The wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?

17 How thy garments are warm,

When the earth is still by reason of the south wind?

18 Canst thou with him spread out the sky,

Which is strong as a molten mirror?

19 Teach us what we shall say unto him;

For we cannot set our speech in order by reason of darkness.

20 Shall it be told him that I would speak?

Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?

21 And now men see not the light which is bright in the skies;

But the wind passeth, and cleareth them.

22 Out of the north cometh golden splendor:

God hath upon him terrible majesty.

23 Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out:

He is excellent in power;

And in justice and plenteous righteousness he will not afflict.

24 Men do therefore fear him:

He regardeth not any that are wise of heart.

1 La auzul acestor lucruri îmi tremură inima de tot

și sare din locul ei.

2 Ascultați, ascultați trăsnetul tunetului Său,

bubuitul care iese din gura Lui!

3 Îl rostogolește pe toată întinderea cerurilor

și fulgerul Lui luminează până la marginile pământului.

4 Apoi se aude un bubuit*Ps. 29:3;68:33., tună cu glasul Lui măreț,

și nu mai oprește fulgerul de îndată ce răsună glasul Lui.

5 Dumnezeu tună cu glasul Lui în chip minunat;

face lucruri*Cap. 5:9;9:10;36:26.Apoc. 15:3. mari pe care noi nu le înțelegem.

6 El zice zăpezii*Ps. 147:16,17.: ‘Cazi pe pământ!’

Zice același lucru ploii, chiar și celor mai puternice ploi.

7 Pecetluiește mâna tuturor oamenilor,

pentru ca toți să se recunoască*Ps. 109:27. de făpturi ale Lui.

8 Fiara sălbatică se*Ps. 104:22. trage într-o peșteră

și se culcă în vizuina ei.

9 Vijelia vine de la miazăzi

și frigul, din vânturile de la miazănoapte.

10 Dumnezeu, prin suflarea*Cap. 38:29,30.Ps. 147:17,18. Lui, face gheața

și micșorează locul apelor mari.

11 Încarcă norii cu aburi

și-i risipește scânteietori;

12 mișcarea lor se îndreaptă după planurile Lui,

pentru împlinirea*Ps. 148:8. a tot ce le poruncește El pe fața pământului locuit.

13 Îi face să pară ca o nuia*Exod 9:18,23.1 Sam. 12:18,19.Ezra 10:9. Cap. 36:31.

cu care lovește pământul*Cap. 38:26,27.

sau ca un semn al*2 Sam. 21:10.1 Împ. 18:45. dragostei Lui.

14 Iov, ia aminte la aceste lucruri!

Privește*Ps. 111:2. liniștit minunile lui Dumnezeu!

15 Știi cum cârmuiește Dumnezeu norii

și cum face să strălucească din ei fulgerul Său?

16 Înțelegi*Cap. 36:29. tu plutirea norilor,

minunile Aceluia a cărui știință este*Cap. 36:4. desăvârșită?

17 Știi pentru ce ți se încălzesc veșmintele

când se odihnește pământul de vântul de miazăzi?

18 Poți tu să întinzi*Gen. 1:6.Is. 44:24. cerurile ca El,

tari ca o oglindă turnată?

19 Arată-ne ce trebuie să-I spunem.

Căci suntem prea neștiutori ca să-I putem vorbi.

20 Cine-I va da de veste că Îi voi vorbi?

Dar care este omul care-și dorește pierderea?

21 Acum, firește, nu putem vedea lumina soarelui care strălucește în dosul norilor,

dar va trece un vânt și-l va curăți.

22 De la miazănoapte ne vine aurora

și ce înfricoșată este măreția care înconjoară pe Dumnezeu!

23 Pe Cel Atotputernic nu-L putem ajunge*1 Tim. 6:16.,

căci este mare în*Cap. 36:5. tărie,

dar dreptul și dreptatea deplină El nu le frânge.

24 De aceea, oamenii trebuie să se teamă*Mat. 10:28. de El;

El nu-Și îndreaptă privirile spre cei ce se cred*Mat. 11:25.1 Cor. 1:26. înțelepți."
