1 Hear this, O ye priests, and hearken, O house of Israel, and give ear, O house of the king; for unto you pertaineth the judgment; for ye have been a snare at Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor. 2 And the revolters are gone deep in making slaughter; but I am a rebuker of them all. 3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me; for now, O Ephraim, thou hast played the harlot, Israel is defiled. 4 Their doings will not suffer them to turn unto their God; for the spirit of whoredom is within them, and they know not Jehovah. 5 And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore Israel and Ephraim shall stumble in their iniquity; Judah also shall stumble with them. 6 They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Jehovah; but they shall not find him: he hath withdrawn himself from them. 7 They have dealt treacherously against Jehovah; for they have borne strange children: now shall the new moon devour them with their fields.

8 Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: sound an alarm at Beth-aven; behind thee, O Benjamin. 9 Ephraim shall become a desolation in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be. 10 The princes of Judah are like them that remove the landmark: I will pour out my wrath upon them like water. 11 Ephraim is oppressed, he is crushed in judgment; because he was content to walk after man’s command. 12 Therefore am I unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness. 13 When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to Assyria, and sent to king Jareb: but he is not able to heal you, neither will he cure you of your wound. 14 For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will carry off, and there shall be none to deliver. 15 I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me earnestly.

Căci pe voi vă amenință judecata, pentru că ați fost o cursă*Cap. 6:9. la Mițpa și un laț întins pe Tabor! 2 Necredincioșii se afundă*Is. 29:15. în nelegiuire, dar voi avea Eu pedepse pentru toți! 3 Cunosc*Amos 3:2. Eu doar pe Efraim și Israel nu-Mi este ascuns; știu că tu, Efraime, ai curvit*Ezec. 23:5. Cap. 4:17. și că Israel s-a spurcat. 4 Faptele lor nu le îngăduie să se întoarcă la Dumnezeul lor, căci un duh de curvie*Cap. 4:12. este în inima lor și nu cunosc pe Domnul! 5 Dar mândria*Cap. 7:10. lui Israel va fi martoră împotriva lui, și Israel și Efraim vor cădea prin nelegiuirea lor, și Iuda va cădea și el cu ei. 6 Vor merge*Prov. 1:28.Is. 1:15.Ier. 11:11.Ezec. 8:18.Mica 3:4.Ioan 7:34. cu oile și boii lor să caute pe Domnul, dar nu-L vor găsi nicidecum, căci S-a depărtat din mijlocul lor. 7 Au fost necredincioși*Is. 48:8.Ier. 3:20;5:11. Cap. 6:7.Mal. 2:11. Domnului, căci au născut copii din curvie; acum îi va înghiți o lună*Zah. 11:8. nouă cu avuțiile lor. 8 Sunați*Cap. 8:1.Ioel 2:1. din trâmbiță la Ghibea, sunați din trâmbiță la Rama! Strigați*Is. 10:30. la Bet-Aven*Ios. 7:2. Cap. 4:15.! Iată-i pe urma ta*Jud. 5:14., Beniamine! 9 Efraim va fi pustiit în ziua pedepsei; ce vestesc Eu împotriva semințiilor lui Israel va veni negreșit! 10 Căpeteniile lui Iuda sunt ca cei ce mută*Deut. 19:14;27:17. semnul de la hotare; ca apa Îmi voi vărsa mânia peste ei! 11 Efraim este asuprit*Deut. 28:33., zdrobit în judecată, căci a urmat învățăturile care-i plăceau*1 Împ. 12:28.Mica 6:16.. 12 Voi fi ca o molie pentru Efraim, ca o putreziciune*Prov. 12:4. (a dinților) pentru casa lui Iuda. 13 Când își vede Efraim boala și Iuda rănile*Ier. 30:12., Efraim aleargă în Asiria*2 Împ. 15:19. Cap. 7:11;12:1. și trimite la împăratul*Cap. 10:6. Iareb, măcar că împăratul acesta nu poate nici să vă facă sănătoși, nici să vă lecuiască rănile. 14 Voi fi*Plâng. 3:10. Cap. 13:7,8. ca un leu pentru Efraim și ca un pui de leu pentru casa lui Iuda; Eu, da, Eu voi sfâșia*Ps. 50:22. și apoi voi pleca, voi lua și nimeni nu-Mi va răpi prada. 15 Voi pleca, Mă voi întoarce în locuința Mea până când vor mărturisi*Lev. 26:40,41.Ier. 29:12,13.Ezec. 6:9;20:43;36:31. că sunt vinovați și vor căuta Fața Mea. Când vor fi în necaz*Ps. 78:34., vor alerga la Mine."
