For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

1 The heavens declare the glory of God;

And the firmament showeth his handiwork.

2 Day unto day uttereth speech,

And night unto night showeth knowledge.

3 There is no speech nor language;

Their voice is not heard.

4 Their line is gone out through all the earth,

And their words to the end of the world.

In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,

And rejoiceth as a strong man to run his course.

6 His going forth is from the end of the heavens,

And his circuit unto the ends of it;

And there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

7 The law of Jehovah is perfect, restoring the soul:

The testimony of Jehovah is sure, making wise the simple.

8 The precepts of Jehovah are right, rejoicing the heart:

The commandment of Jehovah is pure, enlightening the eyes.

9 The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring for ever:

The ordinances of Jehovah are true, and righteous altogether.

10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold;

Sweeter also than honey and the droppings of the honeycomb.

11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned:

In keeping them there is great reward.

12 Who can discern his errors?

Clear thou me from hidden faults.

13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins;

Let them not have dominion over me:

Then shall I be upright,

And I shall be clear from great transgression.

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart

Be acceptable in thy sight,

O Jehovah, my rock, and my redeemer.

Un psalm al lui David

1 Cerurile*Gen. 1:6.Is. 40:22.Rom. 1:19,20. spun slava lui Dumnezeu,

și întinderea lor vestește lucrarea mâinilor Lui.

2 O zi istorisește alteia acest lucru,

o noapte dă de știre alteia despre el.

3 Și aceasta, fără vorbe, fără cuvinte,

al căror sunet să fie auzit,

4 dar răsunetul lor străbate tot*Rom. 10:18. pământul

și glasul lor merge până la marginile lumii.

În ceruri, El a întins un cort soarelui.

5 Și soarele, ca un mire care iese din odaia lui de nuntă,

se aruncă în drumul lui cu bucuria*Ecl. 1:5. unui viteaz:

6 răsare la un capăt al cerurilor

și își isprăvește drumul la celălalt capăt;

nimic nu se ascunde de căldura lui.

7 Legea Domnului este desăvârșită*Ps. 111:7. și înviorează sufletul;

mărturia Domnului este adevărată și dă înțelepciune celui neștiutor.

8 Orânduirile Domnului sunt fără prihană și veselesc inima;

poruncile Domnului sunt curate*Ps. 12:6. și luminează*Ps. 13:3. ochii.

9 Frica de Domnul este curată și ține pe vecie;

judecățile Domnului sunt adevărate, toate sunt drepte.

10 Ele sunt mai de preț decât aurul, decât*Ps. 119:72,127.Prov. 8:10,11,19. mult aur curat;

sunt mai dulci*Ps. 119:103. decât mierea, decât picurul din faguri.

11 Robul Tău primește și el învățătura de la ele;

pentru cine le păzește*Prov. 29:18., răsplata este mare.

12 Cine își cunoaște*Ps. 40:12. greșelile făcute din neștiință?

Iartă-mi greșelile*Lev. 4:2. pe care nu le cunosc*Ps. 90:8.!

13 Păzește*Gen. 20:6.1 Sam. 25:32-34,39. de asemenea pe robul Tău de mândrie,

ca să*Ps. 119:133.Rom. 6:12,14. nu stăpânească ea peste mine!

Atunci voi fi fără prihană, nevinovat de păcate mari.

14 Primește cu bunăvoință cuvintele*Ps. 51:15. gurii mele

și cugetele inimii mele,

Doamne, Stânca mea și Izbăvitorul meu*Is. 43:14;44:6;47:4.1 Tes. 1:10.!
