1 The king shall joy in thy strength, O Jehovah;

And in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

2 Thou hast given him his heart’s desire,

And hast not withholden the request of his lips. [Selah

3 For thou meetest him with the blessings of goodness:

Thou settest a crown of fine gold on his head.

4 He asked life of thee, thou gavest it him,

Even length of days for ever and ever.

5 His glory is great in thy salvation:

Honor and majesty dost thou lay upon him.

6 For thou makest him most blessed for ever:

Thou makest him glad with joy in thy presence.

7 For the king trusteth in Jehovah;

And through the lovingkindness of the Most High he shall not be moved.

8 Thy hand will find out all thine enemies;

Thy right hand will find out those that hate thee.

9 Thou wilt make them as a fiery furnace in the time of thine anger:

Jehovah will swallow them up in his wrath,

And the fire shall devour them.

10 Their fruit wilt thou destroy from the earth,

And their seed from among the children of men.

11 For they intended evil against thee;

They conceived a device which they are not able to perform.

12 For thou wilt make them turn their back;

Thou wilt make ready with thy bowstrings against their face.

13 Be thou exalted, O Jehovah, in thy strength:

So will we sing and praise thy power.

Un psalm al lui David

1 Doamne, împăratul se bucură de ocrotirea puternică pe care i-o dai Tu.

Și cum îl umple de veselie ajutorul*Ps. 20:5,6. Tău!

2 I-ai dat ce-i dorea*Ps. 20:4,5. inima

și n-ai lăsat neîmplinit ce-i cereau buzele. (Oprire)

3 Căci i-ai ieșit înainte cu binecuvântări de fericire

și i-ai pus pe cap*2 Sam. 12:30.1 Cron. 20:2. o cunună de aur curat.

4 Îți cerea viața*Ps. 61:5,6. și i-ai dat-o:

o viață lungă*2 Sam. 7:19.Ps. 91:16. pentru totdeauna și pe vecie.

5 Mare este slava lui în urma ajutorului Tău.

Tu pui peste el strălucirea și măreția.

6 Îl faci pe vecie o pricină de binecuvântări

și-l umpli de bucurie*Ps. 16:11;45:7.Fapte 2:28. înaintea Feței Tale.

7 Căci împăratul se încrede în Domnul

și bunătatea Celui Preaînalt îl face să nu se clatine*Ps. 16:8..

8 Mâna ta, împărate, va ajunge*1 Sam. 31:3. pe toți vrăjmașii tăi,

dreapta ta va ajunge pe cei ce te urăsc

9 și-i vei face ca un cuptor*Mal. 4:1. aprins,

în ziua când te vei arăta;

Domnul îi va nimici*Ps. 56:1,2. în mânia Lui și-i va mânca focul*Ps. 18:8.Is. 26:11..

10 Le vei șterge sămânța*1 Împ. 13:34.Iov 18:16,17,19.Ps. 37:28;109:13.Is. 14:20. de pe pământ și neamul lor din mijlocul fiilor oamenilor.

11 Ei au urzit lucruri rele împotriva ta,

au făcut sfaturi*Ps. 2:1. rele, dar nu vor izbuti.

12 Căci îi vei face să dea dosul

și vei trage cu arcul tău asupra lor.

13 Scoală-te, Doamne, cu puterea Ta,

și vom cânta și vom lăuda puterea Ta!
