1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?

2 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou answerest not;

And in the night season, and am not silent.

3 But thou art holy,

O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

4 Our fathers trusted in thee:

They trusted, and thou didst deliver them.

5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered:

They trusted in thee, and were not put to shame.

6 But I am a worm, and no man;

A reproach of men, and despised of the people.

7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn:

They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

8 Commit thyself unto Jehovah; let him deliver him:

Let him rescue him, seeing he delighteth in him.

9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb;

Thou didst make me trust when I was upon my mother’s breasts.

10 I was cast upon thee from the womb;

Thou art my God since my mother bare me.

11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near;

For there is none to help.

12 Many bulls have compassed me;

Strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

13 They gape upon me with their mouth,

As a ravening and a roaring lion.

14 I am poured out like water,

And all my bones are out of joint:

My heart is like wax;

It is melted within me.

15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd;

And my tongue cleaveth to my jaws;

And thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

16 For dogs have compassed me:

A company of evil-doers have inclosed me;

They pierced my hands and my feet.

17 I may count all my bones.

They look and stare upon me;

18 They part my garments among them,

And upon my vesture do they cast lots.

19 But be not thou far off, O Jehovah:

O thou my succor, haste thee to help me.

20 Deliver my soul from the sword,

My darling from the power of the dog.

21 Save me from the lion’s mouth;

Yea, from the horns of the wild-oxen thou hast answered me.

22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren:

In the midst of the assembly will I praise thee.

23 Ye that fear Jehovah, praise him;

All ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him;

And stand in awe of him, all ye the seed of Israel.

24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;

Neither hath he hid his face from him;

But when he cried unto him, he heard.

25 Of thee cometh my praise in the great assembly:

I will pay my vows before them that fear him.

26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied;

They shall praise Jehovah that seek after him:

Let your heart live for ever.

27 All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn unto Jehovah;

And all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.

28 For the kingdom is Jehovah’s;

And he is the ruler over the nations.

29 All the fat ones of the earth shall eat and worship:

All they that go down to the dust shall bow before him,

Even he that cannot keep his soul alive.

30 A seed shall serve him;

It shall be told of the Lord unto the next generation.

31 They shall come and shall declare his righteousness

Unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done it.

1 Dumnezeule*Mat. 27:46.Marcu 15:34.! Dumnezeule! Pentru ce m-ai părăsit

și pentru ce Te depărtezi fără să-mi ajuți și fără s-asculți plângerile*Evr. 5:7. mele?

2 Strig ziua, Dumnezeule, și nu-mi răspunzi;

strig și noaptea, și tot n-am odihnă.

3 Totuși Tu ești Cel Sfânt

și Tu locuiești în mijlocul laudelor*Deut. 10:21. lui Israel.

4 În Tine se încredeau părinții noștri;

se încredeau și-i izbăveai.

5 Strigau către Tine și erau scăpați;

se încredeau în Tine*Ps. 25:2,3;31:1;71:1.Is. 49:23.Rom. 9:33. și nu rămâneau de rușine.

6 Dar eu sunt vierme*Iov 25:6.Is. 41:14., nu om,

am ajuns de ocara oamenilor*Is. 53:3. și disprețuit de popor.

7 Toți cei ce mă văd*Mat. 27:39.Marcu 15:29.Luca 23:35. își bat joc de mine,

își deschid gura, dau din cap*Iov 16:4.Ps. 109:25. și zic:

8 „S-a încrezut*Mat. 27:43. în Domnul! Să-l mântuiască*Ps. 91:14. Domnul,

să-l izbăvească, fiindcă-l iubește!"

9 Da, Tu m-ai*Ps. 71:6. scos din pântecele mamei,

m-ai pus la adăpost de orice grijă la țâțele mamei mele;

10 de când eram la sânul*Is. 46:3;49:1. mamei am fost sub paza Ta,

din pântecele mamei ai fost Dumnezeul meu.

11 Nu Te depărta de mine, căci s-apropie necazul

și nimeni nu-mi vine în ajutor.

12 O mulțime*Deut. 32:14.Ps. 68:30.Ezec. 39:18.Amos 4:1. de tauri sunt împrejurul meu,

niște tauri din Basan mă înconjoară.

13 Își deschid*Iov 16:10.Ps. 35:21.Plâng. 2:16;3:46. gura împotriva mea,

ca un leu care sfâșie și răcnește.

14 Am ajuns ca apa care se scurge și toate oasele*Dan. 5:6. mi se despart;

mi s-a făcut inima*Ios. 7:5.Iov 23:16. ca ceara

și se topește înăuntrul meu.

15 Mi se usucă puterea*Prov. 17:22. ca lutul

și mi se lipește*Iov 29:10.Plâng. 4:4.Ioan 19:28. limba de cerul gurii;

m-ai adus în țărâna morții.

16 Căci niște câini mă înconjoară*Apoc. 22:15.,

o ceată de nelegiuiți dau târcoale împrejurul meu,

mi-au străpuns*Mat. 27:35.Marcu 15:24.Luca 23:33.Ioan 19:23,37;20:25. mâinile și picioarele;

17 toate oasele aș putea să mi le număr.

Ei însă pândesc*Luca 23:27,35. și mă privesc;

18 își împart*Luca 23:34.Ioan 19:23,24. hainele mele între ei

și trag la sorți pentru cămașa mea.

19 Dar Tu, Doamne, nu Te depărta*Ps. 10:1. Vers. 11.!

Tu, Tăria mea, vino degrabă în ajutorul meu!

20 Scapă-mi sufletul de sabie

și viața*Vers. 16. din ghearele câinilor*Ps. 35:17.!

21 Scapă-mă*2 Tim. 4:17. din gura leului

și scoate-mă*Is. 34:7.Fapte 4:27. din coarnele bivolului!

22 Voi vesti*Ps. 40:9.Evr. 2:12. Numele Tău fraților*Ioan 20:17.Rom. 8:29. mei

și Te voi lăuda în mijlocul adunării.

23 Cei ce*Ps. 135:19,20. vă temeți de Domnul, lăudați-L!

Voi toți, sămânța lui Iacov, slăviți-L!

Cutremurați-vă înaintea Lui, voi toți, sămânța lui Israel!

24 Căci El nici nu disprețuiește, nici nu urăște necazurile celui nenorocit

și nu-Și ascunde Fața de el,

ci*Evr. 5:7. îl ascultă când strigă către El.

25 În adunarea cea mare, Tu*Ps. 35:18;40:9,10;111:1. vei fi pricina laudelor mele

și-mi voi împlini juruințele*Ps. 66:13;116:14.Ecl. 5:4. în fața celor ce se tem de Tine.

26 Cei săraci*Lev. 7:11,12,15,16.Ps. 69:32.Is. 65:13. vor mânca și se vor sătura,

cei ce caută pe Domnul Îl vor lăuda.

Veselă să vă fie inima*Ioan 6:51. pe vecie!

27 Toate*Ps. 2:8;72:11;86:9;98:3.Is. 49:6. marginile pământului își vor aduce aminte și se vor întoarce la Domnul;

toate familiile neamurilor*Ps. 96:7. se vor închina înaintea Ta.

28 Căci*Ps. 47:8.Obad. 21.Zah. 14:9.Mat. 6:13. a Domnului este Împărăția:

El stăpânește peste neamuri.

29 Toți cei puternici*Ps. 45:12. de pe pământ vor mânca și se vor închina și ei;

înaintea Lui se vor pleca toți*Is. 26:19.Filip. 2:10. cei ce se coboară în țărână,

cei ce nu pot să-și păstreze viața.

30 O sămânță de oameni Îi va sluji

și se va vorbi*Ps. 87:6. despre Domnul către cei ce vor veni*Ps. 78:6;86:9;102:18. după ei.

31 Aceștia vor veni*Is. 60:3.Rom. 3:21,22. și vor vesti dreptatea Lui,

vor vesti lucrarea Lui poporului care se va naște.
