A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the House. A Psalm of David.

1 I will extol thee, O Jehovah; for thou hast raised me up,

And hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

2 O Jehovah my God,

I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

3 O Jehovah, thou hast brought up my soul from Sheol;

Thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

4 Sing praise unto Jehovah, O ye saints of his,

And give thanks to his holy memorial name.

5 For his anger is but for a moment;

His favor is for a life-time:

Weeping may tarry for the night,

But joy cometh in the morning.

6 As for me, I said in my prosperity,

I shall never be moved.

7 Thou, Jehovah, of thy favor hadst made my mountain to stand strong:

Thou didst hide thy face; I was troubled.

8 I cried to thee, O Jehovah;

And unto Jehovah I made supplication:

9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit?

Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?

10 Hear, O Jehovah, and have mercy upon me:

Jehovah, be thou my helper.

11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing;

Thou hast loosed my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent.

O Jehovah my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

Un psalm. O cântare pentru sfințirea Casei Domnului, făcută de David

1 Te înalț, Doamne, căci m-ai*Ps. 28:9. ridicat

și n-ai lăsat pe vrăjmașii mei să se bucure*Ps. 25:2;35:19,24. de mine.

2 Doamne Dumnezeule,

eu am strigat către Tine,

și Tu m-ai vindecat*Ps. 6:2;103:3..

3 Doamne, Tu mi-ai ridicat*Ps. 86:13. sufletul din Locuința morților,

Tu m-ai adus la viață din mijlocul celor ce se coboară*Ps. 28:1. în groapă.

4 Cântați*1 Cron. 16:4.Ps. 97:12. Domnului, voi, cei iubiți de El,

măriți prin laudele voastre Numele Lui cel sfânt!

5 Căci mânia Lui ține numai o clipă*Ps. 103:9.Is. 26:20;54:7,8.2 Cor. 4:17.,

dar îndurarea Lui ține toată*Ps. 63:3. viața:

seara vine plânsul,

iar dimineața*Ps. 126:5., veselia.

6 Când îmi mergea bine*Iov 29:18., ziceam:

„Nu mă voi clătina niciodată!"

7 Doamne, prin bunăvoința Ta mă așezaseși pe un munte tare,

dar Ți-ai ascuns*Ps. 104:29. Fața și m-am tulburat.

8 Doamne, eu am strigat către Tine

și m-am rugat Domnului zicând:

9 „Ce vei câștiga dacă-mi verși sângele și mă cobori în groapă?

Poate să Te laude țărâna*Ps. 6:5;88:11;115:17;118:17.Is. 38:18.?

Poate ea să vestească credincioșia Ta?

10 Ascultă, Doamne, ai milă de mine!

Doamne, ajută-mă!"

11 Și mi-ai prefăcut*2 Sam. 6:14.Is. 61:3.Ier. 31:4. tânguirile în veselie,

mi-ai dezlegat sacul de jale și m-ai încins cu bucurie,

12 pentru ca inima mea să-Ți cânte și să nu stea mută.

Doamne Dumnezeule, eu pururea Te voi lăuda!
