And he got into a boat and went across and came to his town. 
And they took to him a man stretched on a bed who had no power of moving; and Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the man who was ill, Son, take heart; you have forgiveness for your sins. 
And some of the scribes said among themselves, This man has no respect for God. 
And Jesus, having knowledge of what was in their minds, said, Why are your thoughts evil? 
For which is the simpler, to say, You have forgiveness for your sins; or to say, Get up and go? 
But so that you may see that on earth the Son of man has authority for the forgiveness of sins, (then said he to the man who was ill,) Get up, and take up your bed, and go to your house. 
And he got up and went away to his house. 
But when the people saw it they were full of fear, and gave glory to God who had given such authority to men. 
And when Jesus was going from there, he saw a man whose name was Matthew, seated at the place where taxes were taken; and he said to him, Come after me. And he got up and went after him. 
And it came about, when he was in the house taking food, that a number of tax-farmers and sinners came and took their places with Jesus and his disciples. 
And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, Why does your Master take food with tax-farmers and sinners? 
But on hearing this he said, Those who are well have no need of a medical man, but those who are ill. 
But go and take to heart the sense of these words, My desire is for mercy, not offerings: for I have come not to get the upright, but sinners. 
Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees frequently go without food, but your disciples do not? 
And Jesus said to them, Will the friends of the newly-married man be sad as long as he is with them? But the days will come when he will be taken away from them, and then will they go without food. 
And no man puts a bit of new cloth on an old coat, for by pulling away from the old, it makes a worse hole. 
And men do not put new wine into old wine-skins; or the skins will be burst and the wine will come out, and the skins are of no more use: but they put new wine into new wine-skins, and so the two will be safe. 
While he was saying these things to them, there came a ruler and gave him worship, saying, My daughter is even now dead; but come and put your hand on her, and she will come back to life. 
And Jesus got up and went after him, and so did his disciples. 
And a woman, who for twelve years had had a flow of blood, came after him, and put her hand on the edge of his robe: 
Because, she said to herself, if I may but put my hand on his robe, I will be made well. 
But Jesus, turning and seeing her, said, Daughter, take heart; your faith has made you well. And the woman was made well from that hour. 
And when Jesus came into the ruler's house and saw the players with their instruments and the people making a noise, 
He said, Make room; for the girl is not dead, but sleeping. And they were laughing at him. 
But when the people were sent out, he went in and took her by the hand; and the girl got up. 
And the news of it went out into all that land. 
And when Jesus went on from there, two blind men came after him, crying out, Have mercy on us, you Son of David. 
And when he had come into the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said to them, Have you faith that I am able to do this? They said to him, Yes, Lord. 
Then he put his hand on their eyes, saying, As your faith is, let it be done to you. 
And their eyes were made open. And Jesus said to them sharply, Let no man have knowledge of it. 
But they went out and gave news of him in all that land. 
And while they were going away, there came to him a man without the power of talking, and with an evil spirit. 
And when the evil spirit had been sent out, the man had the power of talking: and they were all surprised, saying, Such a thing has never been seen in Israel. 
But the Pharisees said, By the ruler of evil spirits, he sends evil spirits out of men. 
And Jesus went about all the towns and small places, teaching in their Synagogues and preaching the good news of the kingdom and making well all sorts of disease and pain. 
But when he saw all the people he was moved with pity for them, because they were troubled and wandering like sheep without a keeper. 
Then he said to his disciples, There is much grain but not enough men to get it in. 
Make prayer, then, to the Lord of the grain-fields, that he may send out workers to get in his grain. 

Jésus, étant entré dans la barque, retraversa le lac, et vint en sa ville. 
Et on lui présenta un paralytique couché sur une civière. Et Jésus, voyant la foi de ces gens-là, dit au paralytique: Prends courage, mon fils, tes péchés te sont pardonnés. 
Là-dessus, quelques scribes disaient en eux-mêmes: Cet homme blasphème. 
Mais Jésus, connaissant leurs pensées, leur dit: Pourquoi avez-vous de mauvaises pensées dans vos cœurs? 
Car lequel est le plus aisé de dire: Tes péchés te sont pardonnés, ou de dire: Lève-toi, et marche? 
Or, afin que vous sachiez que le Fils de l'homme a l'autorité sur la terre de pardonner les péchés: Lève-toi, dit-il alors au paralytique, prends ta civière, et rentre chez-toi. 
Et il se leva, et s'en alla dans sa maison. 
Le peuple ayant vu cela, fut rempli d'admiration, et il glorifia Dieu d'avoir donné un tel pouvoir aux hommes. 
Et Jésus, étant parti de là, vit un homme, nommé Matthieu, assis au bureau des impôts, et il lui dit: Suis-moi. Et lui, se levant, le suivit. 
Et voici, Jésus étant à table dans la maison de Matthieu, beaucoup de péagers et de gens de mauvaise vie vinrent, et se mirent à table avec Jésus et ses disciples. 
Les pharisiens, voyant cela, dirent à ses disciples: Pourquoi votre maître mange-t-il avec les péagers et les gens de mauvaise vie? 
Et Jésus, l'ayant entendu, leur dit: Ce ne sont pas ceux qui sont en santé qui ont besoin de médecin, mais ceux qui se portent mal. 
Mais allez, et apprenez ce que signifie: Je veux la miséricorde, et non pas le sacrifice, car ce ne sont pas des justes que JE SUIS venu appeler à la repentance, mais des pécheurs. 
Alors les disciples de Jean vinrent à Jésus, et lui dirent: D'où vient que nous et les pharisiens nous jeûnons souvent, et que tes disciples ne jeûnent point? 
Et Jésus leur répondit: Les amis de l'Époux peuvent-ils s'affliger pendant que l'Époux est avec eux? Mais le temps viendra que l'Époux leur sera ôté, et alors ils jeûneront. 
Personne ne met une pièce de drap neuf à un vieil habit; parce que le morceau ainsi rapporté tire sur le tissu, et la déchirure devient pire. 
On ne met pas non plus le vin nouveau dans de vieilles outres; autrement les outres éclatent, le vin se répand, et les outres sont ruinées; mais on met le vin nouveau dans des outres neuves, et tous les deux se conservent ensemble. 
Comme il leur disait ces choses, un chef de synagogue vint l'adorer, et lui dit: Ma fille vient de mourir; mais viens lui imposer les mains, et elle vivra. 
Et Jésus, s'étant levé, le suivit avec ses disciples. 
Et une femme qui était malade d'une perte de sang depuis douze ans, s'approcha par-derrière, et toucha le bord de son vêtement, 
Car elle disait en elle-même: Si seulement je touche son vêtement, je serai guérie. 
Jésus, s'étant retourné et la regardant, lui dit: Prends courage, ma fille! ta foi t'a guérie. Et cette femme fut guérie dès cette heure-là. 
Quand Jésus fut arrivé à la maison du chef de la synagogue, et qu'il eut vu les joueurs de flûte et la foule qui faisait grand bruit, il leur dit: 
Retirez-vous; car cette jeune fille n'est pas morte, mais elle dort. Et ils se moquaient de lui. 
Et après qu'on eut fait sortir tout le monde, il entra, et prit par la main cette jeune fille, et elle se leva. 
Et le bruit s'en répandit par toute cette contrée. 
Comme Jésus partait de là, deux aveugles le suivirent, criant et disant: Fils de David! aie pitié de nous. 
Et quand il fut arrivé à la maison, ces aveugles vinrent à lui, et Jésus leur dit: Croyez-vous que je puisse faire cela? Ils lui répondirent: Oui, Seigneur! 
Alors il leur toucha les yeux, en disant: Qu'il vous soit fait selon votre foi. 
Et leurs yeux furent ouverts; et Jésus les menaça fortement, en disant: Prenez garde que personne ne le sache. 
Mais, étant sortis, ils répandirent sa réputation dans toute cette contrée. 
Et comme ils sortaient, on lui présenta un homme muet, hanté d’une contradiction d’esprit. 
Et la contradiction ayant été chassé, le muet parla. Et le peuple, étant dans l'admiration, disait: Rien de semblable n'a jamais été vu en Israël. 
Mais les pharisiens disaient: Il chasse les contradictions par le prince des contradicteurs. 
Et Jésus allait par toutes les villes et par tous les villages, enseignant dans leurs synagogues, prêchant l'évangile de la Souveraineté de Dieu, et guérissant toutes sortes de maladies et toutes sortes d'infirmités parmi le peuple. 
Et voyant la multitude du peuple, il fut ému de compassion envers eux, de ce qu'ils étaient misérables et errants, comme des brebis qui n'ont point de berger. 
Alors il dit à ses disciples: La moisson est grande, mais il y a peu d'ouvriers. 
Priez donc le Maître de la moisson d'envoyer des ouvriers dans sa moisson.
