1 Além disso, irmãos, eu vos declaro o evangelho que vos tenho pregado, o qual também recebestes, e no qual também estais firmes;2 pelo qual também sois salvos, se o guardardes na memória o que vos preguei, se não crestes em vão.3 Porque eu vos entreguei primeiramente o que também recebi; como que Cristo morreu por nossos pecados, de acordo com as escrituras;4 e que foi sepultado, e que ele ressuscitou ao terceiro dia, de acordo com as escrituras;5 e que ele foi visto por Cefas, e então pelos doze;6 após isto, ele foi visto por cerca de quinhentos irmãos de uma vez, dos quais grande parte permanece até agora mas alguns já dormem.7 Após isto, ele foi visto por Tiago, então por todos os apóstolos.8 E, por último de todos, ele também foi visto por mim, como a alguém nascido fora do tempo devido.9 Porque eu sou o menor dos apóstolos, que não sou digno para ser chamado apóstolo, porque eu persegui a igreja de Deus.10 Mas pela graça de Deus, sou o que sou; e a sua graça que foi concedida a mim não foi em vão; mas eu trabalhei muito mais do que todos eles; todavia não eu, mas a graça de Deus que está comigo.11 Portanto, quer seja eu ou eles, assim nós pregamos, e assim tendes crido.12 Ora, embora se pregue que Cristo ressuscitou dos mortos, como dizem alguns dentre vós que não há ressurreição de mortos?13 Mas se não há ressurreição de mortos, então Cristo não ressuscitou;14 e, se Cristo não ressuscitou, então é vã a nossa pregação, e também é vã a vossa fé.15 Sim, e somos considerados como falsas testemunhas de Deus, pois testificamos de Deus, que ressuscitou a Cristo, ao qual ele não ressuscitou, se é que os mortos não ressuscitam.16 Porque, se os mortos não ressuscitam, então Cristo não ressuscitou;17 e, se Cristo não ressuscitou, a vossa fé é vã, e ainda estais nos vossos pecados.18 E também os que dormiram em Cristo pereceram.19 Se apenas nesta vida temos esperança em Cristo, somos os mais miseráveis de todos os homens.20 Mas, agora é Cristo ressuscitado dos mortos, tornando-se as primícias dos que dormem.21 Pois desde que a morte veio por um homem, também por um homem veio a ressurreição dos mortos.22 Porque, assim como em Adão todos morrem, igualmente também em Cristo todos serão vivificados.23 Mas cada homem em sua própria ordem: Cristo, as primícias; depois os que são de Cristo, na sua vinda.24 Então virá o fim, quando ele tiver entregue o reino a Deus, ao Pai, e quando ele tiver derrubado todo o governo, e toda a autoridade, e poder.25 Pois ele deve reinar, até que ele tenha colocado todos os inimigos debaixo de seus pés.26 O último inimigo que será destruído é a morte.27 Porque ele colocou todas as coisas debaixo de seus pés. Mas, quando ele diz que todas as coisas lhe estão sujeitas, está claro que exclui-se aquele que colocou todas as coisas sob ele.28 E, quando todas as coisas lhe estiverem sujeitas, então o mesmo Filho também se sujeitará àquele que todas as coisas lhe sujeitou, para que Deus possa ser tudo em todos.29 Do contrário, o que farão os que são batizados pelos mortos, se de modo algum os mortos ressuscitam? Por que então eles são batizados pelos mortos?30 E por que estamos nós em perigo a toda hora?31 Eu protesto pela alegria que eu tenho em Cristo Jesus, Senhor nosso, cada dia morro.32 Se da maneira do homem eu lutei contra animais em Éfeso, que vantagem tenho, se os mortos não são ressuscitados? Comamos e bebamos, pois amanhã morreremos.33 Não se engane: As comunicações malignas corrompem as boas maneiras.34 Despertai para a justiça e não pequeis; porque alguns não têm o conhecimento de Deus; eu falo isto para vossa vergonha.35 Mas alguns homens dirão: Como são ressuscitados os mortos, e com que corpo eles virão?36 Tolo; o que tu semeias não é despertado, se não morrer;37 e, quando tu semeias, não semeias o corpo que será; mas um grão desnudo, pode ser de trigo ou de algum outro grão;38 mas Deus dá-lhe o corpo como lhe agrada, e a cada semente o seu próprio corpo.39 Nem toda carne é a mesma carne; mas há um tipo de carne dos homens, e outra carne dos animais, outra dos peixes, e outra das aves.40 Há também corpos celestes, e corpos terrestres, mas a glória dos celestes é uma, e a glória dos terrestres é outra.41 Há uma glória do sol, e outra glória da lua, e outra glória das estrelas; porque uma estrela difere de outra estrela em glória.42 Assim também é a ressurreição dos mortos. É semeado na corrupção, e ressuscitado em incorrupção;43 é semeado na desonra, e ressuscitado em glória. É semeado na fraqueza, e ressuscitado em poder;44 é semeado no corpo natural, e ressuscitado no corpo espiritual. Se há um corpo natural, há corpo espiritual.45 E assim está escrito: O primeiro homem, Adão, foi feito em alma vivente; o último Adão, foi feito em espírito vivificante.46 Mas não é primeiro o que é espiritual, mas o que é natural; e depois o que é espiritual.47 O primeiro homem é da terra, terreno; o segundo homem é o Senhor, do céu.48 Tal qual o terreno, tais são também os terrenos; e tal qual o celestial, tais são também os celestiais.49 E assim como temos portado a imagem do terreno, assim também portaremos a imagem do celestial.50 Agora digo-vos isto, irmãos: Que carne e sangue não podem herdar o reino de Deus, nem a corrupção herdar a incorrupção.51 Eis aqui vos digo um mistério: Nem todos dormiremos, mas todos seremos transformados,52 em um momento, em um piscar de olhos, ante a última trombeta; porque a trombeta soará, e os mortos serão ressuscitados incorruptíveis, e nós seremos transformados.53 Porque é necessário que este corruptível seja revestido de incorruptibilidade, e que isto que é mortal se revista da imortalidade.54 E, quando este corruptível tiver sido revestido de incorruptibilidade, e isto que é mortal tiver sido revestido de imortalidade, então se cumprirá provérbio, que está escrito: A morte foi tragada em vitória.55 Ó morte, onde está o teu ferrão? Ó sepultura, onde está a tua vitória?56 O aguilhão da morte é o pecado, e a força do pecado é a lei.57 Mas graças a Deus que nos dá a vitória por nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.58 Portanto, meus amados irmãos, sede firmes, inabaláveis, sempre abundantes na obra do Senhor, sabendo que o vosso trabalho não é vão no Senhor.

1 Now I declare to you, brethren, the glad tidings which I announced to; which, also, you have received, and in which you stand.2 By which, also, you are saved, if you retain those joyful tidings which I delivered to you; unless you believed to no purpose.3 For I delivered to you, among the first things, what also I received first-that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures;4 and that he was buried; and that he rose again the third day, according to the scriptures;5 and that he was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve.6 After that, he was seen by above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain to this present time, but some are fallen asleep.7 After that, he was seen by James; then, by all the Apostles.8 And, last of all he was seen by me, as by one born out of due time.9 For I am the least of the Apostles; who am not worthy to be called an Apostle, because I persecuted the congregation of God.10 But, by the favor of God, I am what I am: and his favor which was bestowed on me, was not vain; for I have labored more abundantly than all of them; yet not I, but the favor of God, which is with me.11 Well, then, whether I or they, so we proclaim, and so you believed.12 Now, if it be proclaimed that Christ was raised from the dead, how is it that some among you say, that there is no resurrection of the dead?13 For if there be no resurrection of the dead, neither has Christ been raised.14 And if Christ has not been raised, vain, certainly, is our proclamation, and vain, also, is your faith.15 Besides, we are found even false witnesses concerning God; because we have witnessed, with respect to God, that he raised Christ; whom he raised not, if, indeed, the dead are not raised.16 And if the dead are not raised, neither has Christ been raised,17 Farther, if Christ has not been raised, your faith is useless; you are still in your sins.18 Certainly, also, they who are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.19 If in this life, only, we have hope in Christ, we are, of all men, the most miserable.20 But now Christ is raised from the dead, -the first fruit of them who have fallen asleep.21 For since through a man came death, through a man also comes the resurrection of the dead.22 Therefore, as by Adam all die, so also by Christ all shall be made alive.23 But every one in his own rank: Christ the first fruit; they that are Christ's, afterward, at his coming.24 Then comes the end, when he shall resign the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have abolished all government, and all authority, and power.25 For he must reign till he has put all the enemies under his feet.26 The last enemy, Death, shall be destroyed.27 For he has subjected all things under his feet. Now when it says that all things are subjected, it is manifest that he is excepted, who has subjected all things to him.28 Now, when all things are subjected to him, then even the Son himself shall be subjected to him, who subjected all things to him, that God may be all in all.29 Otherwise, what shall they do, who are immersed for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why then are they immersed for them?30 And why do we endanger ourselves every hour?31 I solemnly declare, by your rejoicing, what I also have in Christ Jesus our Lord, that every day I die.32 If, after the manner of men, I have fought with wild beasts at Ephesus, what is the advantage to me, if the dead rise not? Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.34 Awake up as you ought, and sin not; for some of you have not the knowledge of God. For shame to you, I say it.35 But some one will say, How can the dead be raised up? and with what kind of body do they come?36 Simpleton! what you sow is not made alive, except it die.37 And as to what you sow, you do not show the body which shall be produced, but the naked grain; it may be of wheat, or of any other kind:38 but God gives it a body, as it has pleased him; and to each of the seeds, its proper body.39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is, indeed, one flesh of men, and another of beasts, and another of fishes, and another of fowls.40 And there are bodies celestial, and bodies terrestrial: but different, indeed, is the glory of the celestial, and that of the terrestrial.41 The glory of the sun is one, and the glory of the moon is another, and the glory of the stars another; moreover, star excels star in glory.42 Just so is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption-it is raised in incorruption:43 it is sown in dishonor-it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness-it is raised in power:44 it is sown an animal body-it is raised a spiritual body. There is an animal body, and there is a spiritual body.45 «For thus it is written,» 'The first man, Adam, was made a living soul-the last Adam, a vivifying spirit.'46 However, that was not first, which is spiritual; but that which is animal, and then that which is spiritual.47 The first man, from the earth, was earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.48 As was the earthy, so also are the earthy; and as is the heavenly, such also shall be heavenly.49 For, as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.50 And this I affirm, brethren, that flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God; neither can corruption inherit incorruption.51 Behold, I tell you a secret: we shall not, indeed, all die; but we shall all be changed;52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for it shall sound, and then the dead shall be raised incorruptible; and we shall be changed.53 For this corruptible body, must put on incorruption; and this mortal body must put on immortality.54 «Now, when this corruptible body shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal body shall have put on immortality, then that saying of scripture shall be accomplished,» 'Death is swallowed up forever.'55 Death! where is thy sting? Hades! where is thy victory?56 For the sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.57 Now thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.58 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be stable, unmoved; abounding in the work of the Lord at all times, knowing that your labor is not vain in the Lord.
