1 (O cîntare a treptelor.) Cînd a adus Domnul înapoi pe prinşii de război ai Sionului, parcă visam.2 Atunci gura ne era plină de strigăte de bucurie, şi limba de cîntări de veselie. Atunci se spunea printre neamuri: ,,Domnul a făcut mari lucruri pentru ei!``3 Da, Domnul a făcut mari lucruri pentru noi, şi deaceea sîntem plini de bucurie.4 Doamne, adu înapoi pe prinşii noştri de război, ca pe nişte rîuri în partea de miază zi!5 Cei ce samănă cu lăcrămi, vor secera cu cîntări de veselie.6 Cel ce umblă plîngînd, cînd aruncă sămînţa, se întoarce cu veselie, cînd îşi strînge snopii.

1 When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.

3 The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

4 Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.

5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
