1 神 对 雅 各 说 ： 起 来 ！ 上 伯 特 利 去 ， 住 在 那 里 ； 要 在 那 里 筑 一 座 坛 给 神 ， 就 是 你 逃 避 你 哥 哥 以 扫 的 时 候 向 你 显 现 的 那 位 。 2 雅 各 就 对 他 家 中 的 人 并 一 切 与 他 同 在 的 人 说 ： 你 们 要 除 掉 你 们 中 间 的 外 邦 　 神 ， 也 要 自 洁 ， 更 换 衣 裳 。 3 我 们 要 起 来 ， 上 伯 特 利 去 ， 在 那 里 我 要 筑 一 座 坛 给 神 ， 就 是 在 我 遭 难 的 日 子 应 允 我 的 祷 告 、 在 我 行 的 路 上 保 佑 我 的 那 位 。 4 他 们 就 把 外 邦 人 的 神 象 和 他 们 耳 朵 上 的 环 子 交 给 雅 各 ； 雅 各 都 藏 在 示 剑 那 里 的 橡 树 底 下 。 5 他 们 便 起 行 前 往 。 　 神 使 那 周 围 城 邑 的 人 都 甚 惊 惧 ， 就 不 追 赶 雅 各 的 众 子 了 。 6 于 是 雅 各 和 一 切 与 他 同 在 的 人 到 了 迦 南 地 的 路 斯 ， 就 是 伯 特 利 。 7 他 在 那 里 筑 了 一 座 坛 ， 就 给 那 地 方 起 名 叫 伊 勒 伯 特 利 ( 就 是 伯 特 利 之 神 的 意 思 ) ； 因 为 他 逃 避 他 哥 哥 的 时 候 ， 　 神 在 那 里 向 他 显 现 。 8 利 百 加 的 奶 母 底 波 拉 死 了 ， 就 葬 在 伯 特 利 下 边 橡 树 底 下 ； 那 棵 树 名 叫 亚 伦 巴 古 。 9 雅 各 从 巴 旦 亚 兰 回 来 ， 　 神 又 向 他 显 现 ， 赐 福 与 他 ， 10 且 对 他 说 ： 你 的 名 原 是 雅 各 ， 从 今 以 后 不 要 再 叫 雅 各 ， 要 叫 以 色 列 。 这 样 ， 他 就 改 名 叫 以 色 列 。 11 神 又 对 他 说 ： 我 是 全 能 的 神 ； 你 要 生 养 众 多 ， 将 来 冇 一 族 和 多 国 的 民 从 你 而 生 ， 又 冇 君 王 从 你 而 出 。 12 我 所 赐 给 亚 伯 拉 罕 和 以 撒 的 地 ， 我 要 赐 给 你 与 你 的 后 裔 。 13 神 就 从 那 与 雅 各 说 话 的 地 方 升 上 去 了 。 14 雅 各 便 在 那 里 立 了 一 根 石 柱 ， 在 柱 子 上 奠 酒 ， 浇 油 。 15 雅 各 就 给 那 地 方 起 名 叫 伯 特 利 。 16 他 们 从 伯 特 利 起 行 ， 离 以 法 他 还 冇 一 段 路 程 ， 拉 结 临 产 甚 是 艰 难 。 17 正 在 艰 难 的 时 候 ， 收 生 婆 对 他 说 ： 不 要 怕 ， 你 又 要 得 一 个 儿 子 了 。 18 他 将 近 于 死 ， 灵 魂 要 走 的 时 候 ， 就 给 他 儿 子 起 名 叫 便 俄 尼 ； 他 父 亲 却 给 他 起 名 叫 便 雅 悯 。 19 拉 结 死 了 ， 葬 在 以 法 他 的 路 旁 ； 以 法 他 就 是 伯 利 恒 。 20 雅 各 在 他 的 坟 上 立 了 一 统 碑 ， 就 是 拉 结 的 墓 碑 ， 到 今 日 还 在 。 21 以 色 列 起 行 前 往 ， 在 以 得 台 那 边 支 搭 帐 棚 。 22 以 色 列 住 在 那 地 的 时 候 ， 流 便 去 与 他 父 亲 的 妾 辟 拉 同 寝 ， 以 色 列 也 听 见 了 。 雅 各 共 冇 十 二 个 儿 子 。 23 利 亚 所 生 的 是 雅 各 的 长 子 流 便 ， 还 冇 西 缅 、 利 未 、 犹 大 、 以 萨 迦 、 西 布 伦 。 24 拉 结 所 生 的 是 约 瑟 、 便 雅 悯 。 25 拉 结 的 使 女 辟 拉 所 生 的 是 但 、 拿 弗 他 利 。 26 利 亚 的 使 女 悉 帕 所 生 的 是 迦 得 、 亚 设 。 这 是 雅 各 在 巴 旦 亚 兰 所 生 的 儿 子 。 27 雅 各 来 到 他 父 亲 以 撒 那 里 ， 到 了 基 列 亚 巴 的 幔 利 ， 乃 是 亚 伯 拉 罕 和 以 撒 寄 居 的 地 方 ； 基 列 亚 巴 就 是 希 伯 崙 。 28 以 撒 共 活 了 一 百 八 十 岁 。 29 以 撒 年 纪 老 迈 ， 日 子 满 足 ， 气 绝 而 死 ， 归 到 他 列 祖 ( 原 文 作 本 民 ) 那 里 。 他 两 个 儿 子 以 扫 、 雅 各 把 他 埋 葬 了 。

1 And God saith unto Jacob, `Rise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there, and make there an altar to God, who appeared unto thee in thy fleeing from the face of Esau thy brother.`2 And Jacob saith unto his household, and unto all who [are] with him, `Turn aside the gods of the stranger which [are] in your midst, and cleanse yourselves, and change your garments;3 and we rise, and go up to Bethel, and I make there an altar to God, who is answering me in the day of my distress, and is with me in the way that I have gone.`4 And they give unto Jacob all the gods of the stranger that [are] in their hand, and the rings that [are] in their ears, and Jacob hideth them under the oak which [is] by Shechem;5 and they journey, and the terror of God is on the cities which [are] round about them, and they have not pursued after the sons of Jacob.6 And Jacob cometh in to Luz which [is] in the land of Canaan (it [is] Bethel), he and all the people who [are] with him,7 and he buildeth there an altar, and proclaimeth at the place the God of Bethel: for there had God been revealed unto him, in his fleeing from the face of his brother.8 And Deborah, Rebekah`s nurse, dieth, and she is buried at the lower part of Bethel, under the oak, and he calleth its name `Oak of weeping.`9 And God appeareth unto Jacob again, in his coming from Padan-Aram, and blesseth him;10 and God saith to him, `Thy name [is] Jacob: thy name is no more called Jacob, but Israel is thy name;` and He calleth his name Israel.11 And God saith to him, `I [am] God Almighty; be fruitful and multiply, a nation and an assembly of nations is from thee, and kings from thy loins go out;12 and the land which I have given to Abraham and to Isaac -- to thee I give it, yea to thy seed after thee I give the land.`13 And God goeth up from him, in the place where He hath spoken with him.14 And Jacob setteth up a standing pillar in the place where He hath spoken with him, a standing pillar of stone, and he poureth on it an oblation, and he poureth on it oil;15 and Jacob calleth the name of the place where God spake with him Bethel.16 And they journey from Bethel, and there is yet a kibrath of land before entering Ephratha, and Rachel beareth, and is sharply pained in her bearing;17 and it cometh to pass, in her being sharply pained in her bearing, that the midwife saith to her, `Fear not, for this also [is] a son for thee.`18 And it cometh to pass in the going out of her soul (for she died), that she calleth his name Ben-Oni; and his father called him Benjamin;19 and Rachel dieth, and is buried in the way to Ephratha, which [is] Bethlehem,20 and Jacob setteth up a standing pillar over her grave; which [is] the standing pillar of Rachel`s grave unto this day.21 And Israel journeyeth, and stretcheth out his tent beyond the tower of Edar;22 and it cometh to pass in Israel`s dwelling in that land, that Reuben goeth, and lieth with Bilhah his father`s concubine; and Israel heareth.23 And the sons of Jacob are twelve. Sons of Leah: Jacob`s first-born Reuben, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun.24 Sons of Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin.25 And sons of Bilhah, Rachel`s maid-servant: Dan and Naphtali.26 And sons of Zilpah, Leah`s maid-servant: Gad and Asher. These [are] sons of Jacob, who have been born to him in Padan-Aram.27 And Jacob cometh unto Isaac his father, at Mamre, the city of Arba (which [is] Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac have sojourned.28 And the days of Isaac are a hundred and eighty years,29 and Isaac expireth, and dieth, and is gathered unto his people, aged and satisfied with days; and bury him do Esau and Jacob his sons.
