1 约 伯 回 答 说 ： 2 如 今 我 的 哀 告 还 算 为 悖 逆 ； 我 的 责 罚 比 我 的 唉 哼 还 重 。 3 惟 愿 我 能 知 道 在 那 里 可 以 寻 见 神 ， 能 到 他 的 臺 前 ， 4 我 就 在 他 面 前 将 我 的 案 件 陈 明 ， 满 口 辩 白 。 5 我 必 知 道 他 回 答 我 的 言 语 ， 明 白 他 向 我 所 说 的 话 。 6 他 岂 用 大 能 与 我 争 辩 么 ？ 必 不 这 样 ！ 他 必 理 会 我 。 7 在 他 那 里 正 直 人 可 以 与 他 辩 论 ； 这 样 ， 我 必 永 远 脱 离 那 审 判 我 的 。 8 只 是 ， 我 往 前 行 ， 他 不 在 那 里 ， 往 后 退 ， 也 不 能 见 他 。 9 他 在 左 边 行 事 ， 我 却 不 能 看 见 ， 在 右 边 隐 藏 ， 我 也 不 能 见 他 。 10 然 而 他 知 道 我 所 行 的 路 ； 他 试 炼 我 之 后 ， 我 必 如 精 金 。 11 我 脚 追 随 他 的 步 履 ； 我 谨 守 他 的 道 ， 并 不 偏 离 。 12 他 嘴 唇 的 命 令 ， 我 未 曾 背 弃 ； 我 看 重 他 口 中 的 言 语 ， 过 于 我 需 用 的 饮 食 。 13 只 是 他 心 志 已 定 ， 谁 能 使 他 转 意 呢 ？ 他 心 里 所 愿 的 ， 就 行 出 来 。 14 他 向 我 所 定 的 ， 就 必 做 成 ； 这 类 的 事 他 还 冇 许 多 。 15 所 以 我 在 他 面 前 惊 惶 ； 我 思 念 这 事 便 惧 怕 他 。 16 神 使 我 丧 胆 ； 全 能 者 使 我 惊 惶 。 17 我 的 恐 惧 不 是 因 为 黑 暗 ， 也 不 是 因 为 幽 暗 蒙 蔽 我 的 脸 。

1 And Job answereth and saith: --2 Also -- to-day [is] my complaint bitter, My hand hath been heavy because of my sighing.3 O that I had known -- and I find Him, I come in unto His seat,4 I arrange before Him the cause, And my mouth fill [with] arguments.5 I know the words He doth answer me, And understand what He saith to me.6 In the abundance of power doth He strive with me? No! surely He putteth [it] in me.7 There the upright doth reason with Him, And I escape for ever from my judge.8 Lo, forward I go -- and He is not, And backward -- and I perceive him not.9 [To] the left in His working -- and I see not, He is covered [on] the right, and I behold not.10 For He hath known the way with me, He hath tried me -- as gold I go forth.11 On His step hath my foot laid hold, His way I have kept, and turn not aside,12 The command of His lips, and I depart not. Above my allotted portion I have laid up The sayings of His mouth.13 And He [is] in one [mind], And who doth turn Him back? And His soul hath desired -- and He doth [it].14 For He doth complete my portion, And many such things [are] with Him.15 Therefore, from His presence I am troubled, I consider, and am afraid of Him.16 And God hath made my heart soft, And the Mighty hath troubled me.17 For I have not been cut off before darkness, And before me He covered thick darkness.
