1 过了年， 在列王出征的时候， 约押带领军兵， 毁坏了亚扪人的地方， 然后去围困拉巴。那时大卫住在耶路撒冷。约押攻打拉巴， 把城摧毁。

2 大卫从米勒公神像的头上取下金冠， 发现金子净重三十公斤， 又有一块宝石嵌在上面； 有人把这冠冕戴在大卫的头上； 大卫从城里夺走了大批战利品。

3 又把城里的众民拉出来， 要他们用锯子、铁铲和斧子作工； 大卫待亚扪各城的人都是这样。后来大卫和众民都回耶路撒冷去了。

4 这事以后， 以色列人在基色与非利士人交战； 那时户沙人西比该击杀了巨人的一个儿子细派， 非利士人就被制伏了。

5 后来， 以色列人与非利士人再次交战， 睚珥的儿子伊勒哈难， 击杀了迦特人歌利亚的兄弟拉哈米； 这人的枪杆好像织布机轴一样。

6 后来， 在迦特又有战事； 那里有一个身材高大的人， 手脚各有六指， 共有二十四根指头； 他也是巨人的儿子。

7 这人侮辱以色列人， 大卫的哥哥示米亚的儿子约拿单就把他击杀了。

8 这些人是迦特巨人的儿子， 都死在大卫和他仆人的手下。

1 And it came to pass, at the time of the return of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that Joab led forth the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and overthrew it. 2 And David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it; and it was set upon David’s head: and he brought forth the spoil of the city, exceeding much. 3 And he brought forth the people that were therein, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. And thus did David unto all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.

4 And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines: then Sibbecai the Hushathite slew Sippai, of the sons of the giant; and they were subdued. 5 And there was again war with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam. 6 And there was again war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot; and he also was born unto the giant. 7 And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David’s brother slew him. 8 These were born unto the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
