19 not avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to wrath; for it is written, Vengeance {belongs} to me, *I* will recompense, saith the Lord.

20 If therefore thine enemy should hunger, feed him; if he should thirst, give him drink; for, so doing, thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head.

21 Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

19 Ne vous vengez point vous-mêmes, mes bien-aimés, mais laissez agir la colère de Dieu, car il est écrit : à moi [appartient] la vengeance; je le rendrai, dit le Seigneur.

20 Si donc ton ennemi a faim, donne-lui à manger ; s'il a soif, donne-lui à boire : car en faisant cela tu retireras des charbons de feu qui sont sur sa tête.

21 Ne sois point surmonté par le mal, mais surmonte le mal par le bien.
