1 But there were false prophets also among the people, as there shall be also among you false teachers, who shall bring in by the bye destructive heresies, and deny the master that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction; 2 and many shall follow their dissolute ways, through whom the way of the truth shall be blasphemed.
3 And through covetousness, with well-turned words, will they make merchandise of you: for whom judgment of old is not idle, and their destruction slumbers not. 4 For if God spared not the angels who had sinned, but having cast them down to the deepest pit of gloom has delivered them to chains of darkness to be kept for judgment; 5 and spared not the old world, but preserved Noe, the eighth, a preacher of righteousness, having brought in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6 and having reduced the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha to ashes, condemned them with an overthrow, setting them as an example to those that should afterwards live an ungodly life;
7 and saved righteous Lot, distressed with the abandoned conversation of the godless, 8 (for the righteous man through seeing and hearing, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul day after day with their lawless works,) 9 the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of trial, and to keep the unjust to the day of judgment to be punished;
10 and specially those who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise lordship. Bold are they, self-willed; they do not fear speaking injuriously of dignities: 11 when angels, who are greater in might and power, do not bring against them, before the Lord, an injurious charge. 12 But these, as natural animals without reason, made to be caught and destroyed, speaking injuriously in things they are ignorant of, shall also perish in their own corruption, 13 receiving the reward of unrighteousness; accounting ephemeral indulgence pleasure; spots and blemishes, rioting in their own deceits, feasting with you; 14 having eyes full of adultery, and that cease not from sin, alluring unestablished souls; having a heart practised in covetousness, children of curse; 15 having left the straight way they have gone astray, having followed in the path of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the reward of unrighteousness; 16 but had reproof of his own wickedness — the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the folly of the prophet. 17 These are springs without water, and mists driven by storm, to whom the gloom of darkness is reserved for ever. 18 For while speaking great highflown words of vanity, they allure with the lusts of the flesh, by dissoluteness, those who have just fled those who walk in error, 19 promising them liberty, while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a man is subdued, by him is he also brought into slavery. 20 For if after having escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, again entangled, they are subdued by these, their last state is worse than the first. 21 For it were better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 But that word of the true proverb has happened to them: The dog has turned back to his own vomit; and, The washed sow to her rolling in mud.
1 PERO hubo también 2.1 Dt. 13.1.falsos profetas en el pueblo, 2.1 Mt. 24.11. Hch. 20.30. 2 Co. 11.13. 1 Ti. 4.1.como habrá entre vosotros falsos doctores, que introducirán encubiertamente 2.1 Tit. 1.10.herejías de perdición, y negarán 2.1 Jud. 4. Ap. 6.10.al Señor 2.1 1 Co. 6.20. 1 P. 1.18.que los rescató, atrayendo sobre sí mismos perdición acelerada.
2 Y muchos seguirán sus disoluciones, por los cuales 2.2 Hch. 19.9.el camino de la verdad será blasfemado;
3 Y 2.3 1 Ti. 6.5. Tit. 1.11.por avaricia harán mercadería de vosotros 2.3 Ro. 16.18.con palabras fingidas, sobre los cuales la condenación ya de largo tiempo no se tarda, y su perdición no se duerme.
4 Porque si Dios no perdonó á los ángeles 2.4 Jud. 6.que habían pecado, sino que 2.4 Ap. 20.2,3,10.habiéndolos despeñado en el infierno con cadenas de oscuridad, los entregó para ser reservados al juicio;
5 Y si 2.5 Jud. 1.14,15.no perdonó al mundo viejo, mas 2.5 1 P. 3.20.guardó á Noé, pregonero de justicia, con otras siete personas, trayendo el diluvio sobre el mundo de malvados;
6 Y si condenó por destrucción 2.6 Gn. 19.24. Jud. 7.las ciudades de Sodoma y de Gomorra, tornándolas en ceniza, y poniéndolas por ejemplo á los que habían de vivir sin temor y reverencia de Dios,
7 Y 2.7 Gn. 19.16.libró al justo Lot, acosado por la nefanda 2.7 Ga. 1.13.conducta de los malvados;
8 (Porque este justo, con ver y oir, morando entre ellos, 2.8 Sal. 119.53,136,158.afligía cada día su alma justa con los hechos de aquellos injustos;)
9 Sabe el 2.9 Sal. 34.17,19.Señor librar de tentación á los píos, y reservar á los injustos para ser atormentados en el día del juicio;
10 Y principalmente á 2.10 cp. 3.3. Jud. 16.aquellos que, siguiendo la carne, andan en concupiscencia é inmundicia, y desprecian la potestad; atrevidos, 2.10 Tit. 1.7.contumaces, que no temen 2.10 Jud. 10.decir mal de las potestades superiores:
11 Como quiera que 2.11 Jud. 9.los mismos ángeles, que son mayores en fuerza y en potencia, no pronuncian juicio de maldición contra ellas delante del Señor.
12 Mas éstos, diciendo mal de las cosas que no entienden, 2.12 Jud. 10.como bestias brutas, que naturalmente son hechas para presa y destrucción, perecerán en su perdición,
13 Recibiendo el 2.13 ver. 15. Hch. 1.18.galardón de su injusticia, ya que reputan por delicia 2.13 Ro. 13.13.poder gozar de deleites cada día. 2.13 Ef. 5.27.Estos son suciedades y manchas, los cuales 2.13 Jud. 12.comiendo con vosotros, juntamente se recrean 2.13 1 Co. 11.21.en sus errores;
14 Teniendo los ojos llenos de adulterio, y no saben cesar de pecar; cebando las almas inconstantes; teniendo el corazón ejercitado en codicias, siendo hijos de maldición;
15 Que han dejado el camino derecho, y se han extraviado, siguiendo 2.15 Nm. 22.5,7.el camino de Balaam, hijo de Bosor, el cual amó el premio de la maldad.
1 Los falsos doctores.
2 El día del Señor.
16 Y fué reprendido por su iniquidad: una 2.16 Nm. 22.21,23,28.muda bestia de carga, hablando en voz de hombre, refrenó la locura del profeta.
17 Estos son fuentes sin agua, 2.17 Jud. 12.y nubes traídas de torbellino de viento: 2.17 Jud. 13.para los cuales está guardada la oscuridad de las tinieblas para siempre.
18 Porque 2.18 Jud. 16.hablando arrogantes palabras de vanidad, ceban con las concupiscencias de la carne en disoluciones á los que verdaderamente habían huído de los que conversan en error;
19 Prometiéndoles 2.19 Ga. 5.13. Jud. 4.libertad, 2.19 Jn. 8.34. Ro. 6.16,20.siendo ellos mismos siervos de corrupción. Porque el que es de alguno vencido, es sujeto á la servidumbre del que lo venció.
20 Ciertamente, si habiéndose ellos apartado de las contaminaciones del mundo, 2.20 cp. 1.2.por el conocimiento del Señor y Salvador Jesucristo, y otra vez envolviéndose en ellas, son vencidos, 2.20 Mt. 12.45.sus postrimerías les son hechas peores que los principios.
21 Porque mejor les hubiera sido no haber conocido el camino de la justicia, que después de haberlo conocido, tornarse atrás del santo mandamiento que les fué dado.
22 Pero les ha acontecido lo del verdadero proverbio: 2.22 Pr. 26.11.El perro se volvió á su vómito, y la puerca lavada á revolcarse en el cieno.
