Colossenses 2

1 For I would have you know what combat I have for you, and those in Laodicea, and as many as have not seen my face in flesh; 2 to the end that their hearts may be encouraged, being united together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the full knowledge of the mystery of God; 3 in which are hid all the treasures of wisdom and of knowledge.

4 And I say this to the end that no one may delude you by persuasive speech. 5 For if indeed in the flesh I am absent, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the firmness of your faith in Christ. 6 As therefore ye have received the Christ, Jesus the Lord, walk in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, and assured in the faith, even as ye have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. 8 See that there be no one who shall lead you away as a prey through philosophy and vain deceit, according to the teaching of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For in him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and ye are complete in him, who is the head of all principality and authority, 11 in whom also ye have been circumcised with circumcision not done by hand, in the putting off of the body of the flesh, in the circumcision of the Christ; 12 buried with him in baptism, in which ye have been also raised with him through faith of the working of God who raised him from among the dead.

13 And you, being dead in offences and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he has quickened together with him, having forgiven us all the offences; 14 having effaced the handwriting in ordinances which stood out against us, which was contrary to us, he has taken it also out of the way, having nailed it to the cross; 15 having spoiled principalities and authorities, he made a show of them publicly, leading them in triumph by it.

16 Let none therefore judge you in meat or in drink, or in matter of feast, or new moon, or sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. 18 Let no one fraudulently deprive you of your prize, doing his own will in humility and worship of angels, entering into things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by the mind of his flesh, 19 and not holding fast the head, from whom all the body, ministered to and united together by the joints and bands, increases with the increase of God. 20 If ye have died with Christ from the elements of the world, why as if alive in the world do ye subject yourselves to ordinances? 21 Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch, 22 (things which are all for destruction in the using of them:) according to the injunctions and teachings of men, 23 (which have indeed an appearance of wisdom in voluntary worship, and humility, and harsh treatment of the body, not in a certain honour,) to the satisfaction of the flesh.

1 PORQUE quiero que sepáis cuán gran solicitud tengo por vosotros, y por los que están en ✝2.1 cp. 4.13,15,16. Ap. 1.11 y 3.14.Laodicea, y por todos los que nunca vieron mi rostro en carne;

2 Para que sean confortados sus corazones, unidos en amor, y en ✝2.2 He. 6.11.todas riquezas de cumplido entendimiento para conocer ✝2.2 1 Co. 4.1. cp. 4.3el misterio de ✝2.2 Ef. 5.20.Dios, y del Padre, y de Cristo;

3 En el cual ✝2.3 1 Co. 2.6,7. Ef. 1.8.están escondidos todos los tesoros de sabiduría y conocimiento.

4 Y esto digo, para que nadie os engañe con palabras persuasivas.

5 Porque aunque estoy ausente con el cuerpo, no obstante con el espíritu estoy con vosotros, gozándome y mirando vuestro concierto, y la firmeza de vuestra fe en Cristo.

6 Por tanto, de la manera que habéis recibido al Señor Jesucristo, andad en él:

7 Arraigados ✝2.7 Ef. 3.17.y sobreedificados en él, y confirmados en la fe, así como habéis aprendido, creciendo en ella con hacimiento de gracias.

8 Mirad que ninguno os engañe por filosofías y vanas sustilezas, según ✝2.8 Ga. 1.14.las tradiciones de los hombres, conforme á los elementos del mundo, y no según Cristo:

9 Porque ✝2.9 Jn. 1.14.en él habita toda ✝2.9 cp. 1.19.la plenitud de la divinidad corporalmente:

10 Y en él ✝2.10 Jn. 1.16. Ef. 3.19.estáis cumplidos, ✝2.10 Ef. 1.21.el cual es la cabeza de todo ✝2.10 cp. 1.16.principado y potestad:

11 En el cual también sois circuncidados de circuncisión ✝2.11 Ro. 2.29. Fil. 3.3.no hecha con manos, ✝2.11 Ro. 6.6.con el despojamiento del cuerpo de los pecados de la carne, en la circuncisión de Cristo;

12 Sepultados ✝2.12 Ro. 6.4.juntamente con él en el bautismo, en el cual también ✝2.12 Ro. 6.5. cp. 3.1resucitasteis con él, por la fe de la operación de Dios que le levantó de los muertos.

13 Y á vosotros, ✝2.13 Ef. 2.5.estando muertos en pecados y en la incircuncisión de vuestra carne, os vivificó juntamente con él, perdonándoos todos los pecados,

14 Rayendo ✝2.14 Ef. 2.15,16.la cédula de ✝2.14 ver. 20los ritos que nos era contraria, que era contra nosotros, quitándola de en medio y enclavándola en la cruz;

15 Y ✝2.15 Sal. 68.18. Is. 53.12. Jn. 12.31. Ef. 4.8.despojando los principados y las potestades, sacólos á la vergüenza en público, triunfando de ellos ✝2.15 Ef. 2.16.en sí mismo.

16 Por tanto, nadie os juzgue ✝2.16 Ro. 14.17.en comida, ó en bebida, ó en parte ✝2.16 Ro. 14.5.de día de fiesta, ó de ✝2.16 Nm. 28.11.nueva luna, ó de sábados:

17 Lo cual ✝2.17 He. 10.1.es la sombra de lo por venir; mas ✝2.17 ver. 9el cuerpo es de Cristo.

18 Nadie os prive de vuestro premio, afectando humildad y culto á los ángeles, metiéndose en lo que no ha visto, vanamente hinchado en el sentido de su propia carne,

19 Y no teniendo ✝2.19 Ef. 4.15,16.la cabeza, de la cual todo el cuerpo, alimentado y conjunto por las ligaduras y conjunturas, crece en aumento de Dios.

20 Pues ✝2.20 cp. 3.3.si sois muertos con Cristo cuanto á ✝2.20 ver. 8los rudimentos del mundo, ✝2.20 Ga. 4.9.¿por qué como si vivieseis al mundo, os sometéis á ordenanzas,

21 Tales como, No manejes, ✝2.21 1 Ti. 4.3.ni gustes, ni aun toques,

22 (Las cuales cosas son todas para destrucción en el uso mismo), en conformidad á mandamientos y doctrinas de hombres?

1 Santidad y caridad.

2 Deberes domésticos.

23 Tales cosas tienen á la verdad cierta reputación de sabiduría en ✝2.23 ver. 18culto voluntario, y humildad, y en duro trato del cuerpo; no en alguna honra para el saciar de la carne.
