1 And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,2 Dominion and fear are with him; he maketh peace in his high places.3 Is there any number of his troops? and upon whom doth not his light arise?4 And how should man be just with *God? Or how should he be clean that is born of a woman?5 Lo, even the moon is not bright; and the stars are not pure in his sight:6 How much less man, a worm, and the son of man, a worm!

1 Então respondeu Bildade suíta:2 A Deus pertence o domínio e o poder, Ele faz reinar a paz nas regiões celestes.3 Acaso têm número as suas tropas? E sobre quem não surge a sua luz?4 Como, pois, pode o homem ser justo diante de Deus? Ou como pode ser puro aquele que nasce de mulher?5 Eis que até a lua não tem brilho, E as estrelas não são puras aos olhos dele;6 Quanto menos o que é verme! É o filho do homem que é vermezinho!
