Isaiah 4

1 *[ch. 13:12] And seven women *ch. 3:6shall take hold of *[ch. 13:12] one man in that day, saying, "We will eat our own bread and wear our own clothes, only let us be called by your name; *See Gen. 30:23take away our reproach."

The Branch of the Lord Glorified

2 In that day *Jer. 23:5;33:15;Zech. 3:8;6:12the branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and *[ch. 27:6]the fruit of the land shall be the pride and honor of the survivors of Israel. 3 *ch. 6:13;10:20And he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called *Obad. 17holy, everyone who has *Ex. 32:32;Luke 10:20;Heb. 12:23;[Ps. 69:28]been recorded for life in Jerusalem, 4 when *Ezek. 36:25the Lord shall have washed away the filth of *ch. 3:16the daughters of Zion and cleansed the bloodstains of Jerusalem from its midst by a spirit of judgment and by *ch. 33:14;Mal. 3:2;Matt. 3:11;Luke 3:17a spirit of burning.*4:4 Or purging5 Then the Lord will create over the whole site of Mount Zion and over her assemblies *Ex. 13:21a cloud by day, and smoke and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory there will be *[Rev. 7:15]a canopy. 6 *ch. 25:4There will be a *See Ps. 27:5booth for shade by day from the heat, and *ch. 25:4for a refuge and a shelter from the storm and rain.
