1 And Balaam sayd vnto Balak, Builde me here seuen altars, and prepare me here seuen bullockes, and seuen rammes. 2 And Balak did as Balaam sayd, and Balak and Balaam offred on euery altar a bullocke and a ramme. 3 Then Balaam sayde vnto Balak, Stande by the burnt offring, and I will goe, if so be that the Lord will come and meete me: and whatsoeuer he sheweth me, I will tell thee: so he went forth alone. 4 And God met Balaam, and Balaam sayd vnto him, I haue prepared seuen altars, and haue offred vpon euery altar a bullocke and a ramme. 5 And the Lord put an answere in Balaams mouth, and sayde, Go againe to Balak, and say on this wise. 6 So when he returned vnto him, loe, hee stoode by his burnt offering, he, and all the princes of Moab. 7 Then he vttered his parable, and sayde, Balak the king of Moab hath brought mee from Aram out of the mountaines of the East, saying, Come, curse Iaakob for my sake: come, and detest Israel. 8 How shall I curse, where God hath not cursed? or howe shall I detest, where the Lord hath not detested? 9 For from the top of the rocks I did see him, and from the hils I did beholde him: lo, the people shall dwell by themselues, and shall not be reckened among the nations. 10 Who can tell the dust of Iaakob, and the nomber of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last ende be like his. 11 Then Balak saide vnto Balaam, What hast thou done vnto mee? I tooke thee to curse mine enemies, and beholde, thou hast blessed them altogether. 12 And he answered, and said, Must I not take heede to speake that, which the Lord hath put in my mouth? 13 And Balak sayde vnto him, Come, I pray thee, with mee vnto another place, whence thou mayest see them, and thou shalt see but the vtmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: therefore curse them out of that place for my sake. 14 And he brought him into Sede-sophim to the top of Pisgah, and built seuen altars, and offred a bullocke, and a ramme on euery altar. 15 After, he sayde vnto Balak, Stande here by thy burnt offring, and I wil meete the Lord yonder. 16 And the Lord mette Balaam, and put an answere in his mouth, and sayd, Goe againe vnto Balak, and say thus. 17 And when he came to him, beholde, hee stoode by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him: so Balak sayde vnto him, What hath the Lord sayd? 18 And he vttered his parable, and sayde, Rise vp, Balak, and heare: hearken vnto me, thou sonne of Zippor. 19 God is not as man, that he should lie, neither as the sonne of man that he shoulde repent: hath he sayde and shall he not do it? and hath he spoken, and shall he not accomplish it? 20 Behold, I haue receiued commandement to blesse: for he hath blessed, and I cannot alter it. 21 Hee seeth none iniquitie in Iaakob, nor seeth no transgression in Israel: the Lord his God is with him, and the ioyfull shoute of a king is among them. 22 God brought them out of Egypt: their strength is as an vnicorne. 23 For there is no sorcerie in Iaakob, nor soothsaying in Israel: according to this time it shalbe sayde of Iaakob and of Israel, What hath God wrought? 24 Behold, the people shall rise vp as a lyon, and lift vp himselfe as a yong lyon: hee shall not lye downe, till he eate of the pray, and till he drinke the blood of the slayne. 25 Then Balak sayde vnto Balaam, Neither curse, nor blesse them at all. 26 But Balaam answered, and saide vnto Balak, Tolde not I thee, saying, All that the Lord speaketh, that must I do? 27 Againe Balak sayd vnto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I wil bring thee vnto another place, if so be it wil please God, that thou mayest thence curse them for my sake. 28 So Balak brought Balaam vnto the top of Peor, that looketh toward Ieshmon. 29 Then Balaam sayde vnto Balak, Make me here seuen altars, and prepare me here seuen bullocks, and seuen rammes. 30 And Balak did as Balaam had sayd, and offred a bullocke and a ram on euery altar.

1 Y BALAAM dijo á Balac: Edifícame aquí siete altares, y prepárame aquí siete becerros y siete carneros.2 Y Balac hizo como le dijo Balaam: y ofrecieron Balac y Balaam un becerro y un carnero en cada altar.3 Y Balaam dijo á Balac: Ponte junto á tu holocausto, y yo iré: quizá Jehová me vendrá al encuentro, y cualquiera cosa que me mostrare, te la noticiaré. Y así se fué solo.4 Y vino Dios al encuentro de Balaam, y éste le dijo: Siete altares he ordenado, y en cada altar he ofrecido un becerro y un carnero.5 Y Jehová puso palabra en la boca de Balaam, y díjole: Vuelve á Balac, y has de hablar así.6 Y volvió á él, y he aquí estaba él junto á su holocausto, él y todos los príncipes de Moab.7 Y él tomó su parábola, y dijo: De Aram me trajo Balac, Rey de Moab, de los montes del oriente: Ven, maldíceme á Jacob; Y ven, execra á Israel.8 ¿Por qué maldeciré yo al que Dios no maldijo? ¿Y por qué he de execrar al que Jehová no ha execrado?9 Porque de la cumbre de las peñas lo veré, Y desde los collados lo miraré: He aquí un pueblo que habitará confiado, Y no será contado entre las gentes.10 ¿Quién contará el polvo de Jacob, O el número de la cuarta parte de Israel? Muera mi persona de la muerte de los rectos, Y mi postrimería sea como la suya.11 Entonces Balac dijo á Balaam: ¿Qué me has hecho? hete tomado para que maldigas á mis enemigos, y he aquí has proferido bendiciones.12 Y él respondió, y dijo: ¿No observaré yo lo que Jehová pusiere en mi boca para decirlo?13 Y dijo Balac: Ruégote que vengas conmigo á otro lugar desde el cual lo veas; su extremidad solamente verás, que no lo verás todo; y desde allí me lo maldecirás.14 Y llevólo al campo de Sophim, á la cumbre de Pisga, y edificó siete altares, y ofreció un becerro y un carnero en cada altar.15 Entonces él dijo á Balac: Ponte aquí junto á tu holocausto, y yo iré á encontrar á Dios allí.16 Y Jehová salió al encuentro de Balaam, y puso palabra en su boca, y díjole: Vuelve á Balac, y así has de decir.17 Y vino á él, y he aquí que él estaba junto á su holocausto, y con él los príncipes de Moab: y díjole Balac: ¿Qué ha dicho Jehová?18 Entonces él tomó su parábola, y dijo: Balac, levántate y oye; Escucha mis palabras, hijo de Zippor:19 Dios no es hombre, para que mienta; Ni hijo de hombre para que se arrepienta: El dijo, ¿y no hará?; Habló, ¿y no lo ejecutará?20 He aquí, yo he tomado bendición: Y él bendijo, y no podré revocarla.21 No ha notado iniquidad en Jacob, Ni ha visto perversidad en Israel: Jehová su Dios es con él, Y júbilo de rey en él.22 Dios los ha sacado de Egipto; Tiene fuerzas como de unicornio.23 Porque en Jacob no hay agüero, Ni adivinación en Israel: Como ahora, será dicho de Jacob y de Israel: ­Lo que ha hecho Dios!24 He aquí el pueblo, que como león se levantará, Y como león se erguirá: No se echará hasta que coma la presa, Y beba la sangre de los muertos.25 Entonces Balac dijo á Balaam: Ya que no lo maldices, ni tampoco lo bendigas.26 Y Balaam respondió, y dijo á Balac: ¿No te he dicho que todo lo que Jehová me dijere, aquello tengo de hacer?27 Y dijo Balac á Balaam: Ruégote que vengas, te llevaré á otro lugar; por ventura parecerá bien á Dios que desde allí me lo maldigas.28 Y Balac llevó á Balaam á la cumbre de Peor, que mira hacia Jesimón.29 Entonces Balaam dijo á Balac: Edifícame aquí siete altares, y prepárame aquí siete becerros y siete carneros.30 Y Balac hizo como Balaam le dijo; y ofreció un becerro y un carnero en cada altar.
