3 And not only so, but we are actually exulting also even in our troubles; for we know that trouble works fortitude,4 and fortitude character, and character, hope -5 a hope which never disappoints us. For through the Holy Spirit who has given to us, the "brimming river of the love of God" has overflowed in our hearts.
