Malaquias 4

Te Rā Nui o Ihowā

1 "Tā te mea, nanā, kei te haere mai te rā, e ngiha ai ānō he oumu. Nā, ko te hunga whakakake katoa, me te hunga katoa e mahi ana i te kino hei kakau wīti rātou; ā, ka tahuna e te rā meāke nei puta," e ai tā Ihowā o ngā mano, "e kore anō he pakiaka, he manga e mahue ki a rātou. 2 Ki a koutou ia e wehi nā i tōku ingoa ka ara ake te rā o te tika, he whakaora mate hoki i runga i ōna parirau; ā, ka puta mai koutou, ka tūpekepeke ānō he kūao kau nō te tūranga kau. 3 Ka takatakahia anō e koutou te hunga kino; ka rite hoki rātou ki ngā pungarehu i raro i ngā kapu o ō koutou waewae i te rā e mahi ai ahau," e ai tā Ihowā o ngā mano.

4 "Kia mahara ki te ture a tāku pononga, a Mohi, ki tāku i whakahau ai ki a ia i Horepa, he mea mō Īharaira katoa, ki ngā tikanga, ki ngā whakaritenga.

5 "Nanā, ka ungā atu e ahau a Irāia poropiti ki a koutou i mua i te taenga mai o te rā nui o Ihowā, o te rā whakamataku. 6 Ā, ka tahuri i a ia ngā ngākau o ngā mātua ki ngā tamariki, me ngā ngākau o ngā tamariki ki ō rātou mātua; kei haere atu ahau, kei patu i te whenua ki te kanga."

1 For, behold, the day cometh, it burneth as a furnace; and all the proud, and all that work wickedness, shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith Jehovah of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But unto you that fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings; and ye shall go forth, and gambol as calves of the stall. 3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I make, saith Jehovah of hosts.

4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, even statutes and ordinances. 5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible day of Jehovah come. 6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers; lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
