1 Portanto, meus amados irmãos, de quem tenho muita saudade, vocês que são a minha alegria e coroa, sim, meus amados, permaneçam, deste modo, firmes no Senhor.

2 Peço a Evódia e peço a Síntique que, no Senhor, tenham o mesmo modo de pensar. 3 E peço também a você, fiel companheiro de jugo, que auxilie essas mulheres, pois juntas se esforçaram comigo no evangelho, juntamente com Clemente e com os demais cooperadores meus, cujos nomes se encontram no Livro da Vida.

4 Alegrem-se sempre no Senhor; outra vez digo: alegrem-se!

5 Que a moderação de vocês seja conhecida por todos. Perto está o Senhor. 6 Não fiquem preocupados com coisa alguma, mas, em tudo, sejam conhecidos diante de Deus os pedidos de vocês, pela oração e pela súplica, com ações de graças. 7 E a paz de Deus, que excede todo entendimento, guardará o coração e a mente de vocês em Cristo Jesus.

8 Finalmente, irmãos, tudo o que é verdadeiro, tudo o que é respeitável, tudo o que é justo, tudo o que é puro, tudo o que é amável, tudo o que é de boa fama, se alguma virtude há e se algum louvor existe, seja isso o que ocupe o pensamento de vocês. 9 O que também aprenderam, receberam e ouviram de mim, e o que viram em mim, isso ponham em prática; e o Deus da paz estará com vocês.

10 Fiquei muito alegre no Senhor porque, agora, uma vez mais, renasceu o cuidado que vocês têm por mim. Na verdade, vocês já tinham esse cuidado antes, só que lhes faltava oportunidade. 11 Digo isto, não porque esteja necessitado, porque aprendi a viver contente em toda e qualquer situação. 12 Sei o que é passar necessidade e sei também o que é ter em abundância; aprendi o segredo de toda e qualquer circunstância, tanto de estar alimentado como de ter fome, tanto de ter em abundância como de passar necessidade. 13 Tudo posso naquele que me fortalece.

14 No entanto, vocês fizeram bem, associando-se comigo nas aflições. 15 E como vocês, filipenses, sabem muito bem, no início da pregação do evangelho, quando parti da Macedônia, nenhuma igreja se associou comigo nessa questão de dar e receber, exceto vocês, somente. 16 Porque até quando eu estava em Tessalônica, por mais de uma vez vocês mandaram o bastante para as minhas necessidades. 17 Não que eu esteja pedindo ajuda, pois o que realmente me interessa é o fruto que aumente o crédito na conta de vocês. 18 Recebi tudo e tenho até de sobra. Estou suprido, desde que Epafrodito me entregou o que vocês me mandaram, que é uma oferta de aroma agradável, um sacrifício que Deus aceita e que lhe agrada. 19 E o meu Deus, segundo a sua riqueza em glória, há de suprir, em Cristo Jesus, tudo aquilo de que vocês precisam. 20 A nosso Deus e Pai seja a glória para todo o sempre. Amém!

21 Saúdem cada um dos santos em Cristo Jesus. Os irmãos que estão comigo mandam saudações. 22 Todos os santos mandam saudações, especialmente os da casa de César.

23 A graça do Senhor Jesus Cristo esteja com o espírito de vocês.

1 Wherefore, my brethren beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my beloved.

2 I exhort Euodia, and I exhort Syntyche, to be of the same mind in the Lord. 3 Yea, I beseech thee also, true yokefellow, help these women, for they labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow-workers, whose names are in the book of life.

4 Rejoice in the Lord always: again I will say, Rejoice. 5 Let your forbearance be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 The things which ye both learned and received and heard and saw in me, these things do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

10 But I rejoice in the Lord greatly, that now at length ye have revived your thought for me; wherein ye did indeed take thought, but ye lacked opportunity. 11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therein to be content. 12 I know how to be abased, and I know also how to abound: in everything and in all things have I learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in want. 13 I can do all things in him that strengtheneth me. 14 Howbeit ye did well that ye had fellowship with my affliction. 15 And ye yourselves also know, ye Philippians, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church had fellowship with me in the matter of giving and receiving but ye only; 16 for even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my need. 17 Not that I seek for the gift; but I seek for the fruit that increaseth to your account. 18 But I have all things, and abound: I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things that came from you, an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God. 19 And my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 20 Now unto our God and Father be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

21 Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren that are with me salute you. 22 All the saints salute you, especially they that are of Cæsar’s household.

23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
