1 No vigésimo sétimo ano do reinado de Jeroboão, rei de Israel, Azarias, filho de Amazias, rei de Judá, começou a reinar. 2 Tinha dezesseis anos de idade quando começou a reinar e reinou cinquenta e dois anos em Jerusalém. A mãe dele se chamava Jecolias e era de Jerusalém. 3 Ele fez o que era reto aos olhos do Senhor, segundo tudo o que Amazias, seu pai, havia feito. 4 Apenas os lugares altos não foram tirados, e o povo ainda sacrificava e queimava incenso nesses altos.

5 O Senhor feriu o rei, e ele ficou leproso até o dia da sua morte e morava numa casa separada. Jotão, filho do rei, era responsável pelo palácio e governava o povo da terra.

6 Quanto aos demais atos de Azarias e a tudo o que fez, não está tudo escrito no Livro da História dos Reis de Judá? 7 Azarias morreu e foi sepultado no túmulo de seus pais, na Cidade de Davi; e Jotão, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

8 No trigésimo oitavo ano do reinado de Azarias, rei de Judá, Zacarias, filho de Jeroboão, reinou sobre Israel, em Samaria, durante seis meses. 9 Fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, como tinham feito seus pais. Não se afastou dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que este levou Israel a cometer. 10 Salum, filho de Jabes, conspirou contra ele, atacou-o diante do povo, matou-o e reinou em seu lugar.

11 Quanto aos demais atos de Zacarias, está tudo escrito no Livro da História dos Reis de Israel. 12 Esta foi a palavra que o Senhor falou a Jeú: "Os seus filhos, até a quarta geração, se assentarão no trono de Israel." E assim aconteceu.

13 Salum, filho de Jabes, começou a reinar no trigésimo nono ano do reinado de Uzias, rei de Judá; e reinou durante um mês em Samaria. 14 Menaém, filho de Gadi, foi de Tirza a Samaria, atacou Salum, filho de Jabes, matou-o e reinou em seu lugar.

15 Quanto aos demais atos de Salum e a conspiração que fez, está tudo escrito no Livro da História dos Reis de Israel. 16 Saindo de Tirza, Menaém destruiu a cidade de Tifsa e todos os seus moradores, bem como toda aquela região. Porque não abriram o portão da cidade, ele a devastou. Até rasgou o ventre de todas as mulheres grávidas.

17 Desde o trigésimo nono ano do reinado de Azarias, rei de Judá, Menaém, filho de Gadi, começou a reinar sobre Israel e reinou dez anos em Samaria. 18 Fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor. Durante todos os seus dias não se afastou dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que este levou Israel a cometer. 19 Então Pul, rei da Assíria, veio contra a terra, e Menaém lhe entregou trinta e quatro toneladas de prata, para que este o ajudasse a consolidar o seu reino. 20 Para pagar ao rei da Assíria, Menaém exigiu dinheiro de todos os poderosos e ricos em Israel, seiscentos gramas de prata por cabeça. E assim o rei da Assíria deu a volta e não se demorou ali na terra.

21 Quanto aos demais atos de Menaém e a tudo o que fez, não está tudo escrito no Livro da História dos Reis de Israel? 22 Menaém morreu, e Pecaías, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

23 No quinquagésimo ano do reinado de Azarias, rei de Judá, Pecaías, filho de Menaém, começou a reinar; e reinou sobre Israel, em Samaria, dois anos. 24 Fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor; não se afastou dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que este levou Israel a cometer. 25 Peca, seu capitão, filho de Remalias, conspirou contra ele e o feriu em Samaria, na fortaleza do palácio real, juntamente com Argobe e com Arié; com Peca estavam cinquenta homens dos gileaditas; Peca o matou e reinou em seu lugar.

27 No quinquagésimo segundo ano do reinado de Azarias, rei de Judá, Peca, filho de Remalias, começou a reinar; e reinou sobre Israel, em Samaria, vinte anos. 28 Fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor. Não se afastou dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que este levou Israel a cometer.

29 Nos dias de Peca, rei de Israel, Tiglate-Pileser, rei da Assíria, veio e conquistou Ijom, Abel-Bete-Maaca, Janoa, Quedes, Hazor, as regiões de Gileade e da Galileia, toda a terra de Naftali, e levou os seus habitantes para a Assíria.

30 Oseias, filho de Elá, conspirou contra Peca, filho de Remalias, atacou-o e o matou, e reinou em seu lugar, no vigésimo ano do reinado de Jotão, filho de Uzias.

31 Quanto aos demais atos de Peca e a tudo o que fez, está tudo escrito no Livro da História dos Reis de Israel.

32 No segundo ano do reinado de Peca, filho de Remalias, rei de Israel, Jotão, filho de Uzias, rei de Judá, começou a reinar. 33 Ele tinha vinte e cinco anos de idade quando começou a reinar e reinou dezesseis anos em Jerusalém. A mãe dele se chamava Jerusa e era filha de Zadoque. 34 Fez o que era reto aos olhos do Senhor, segundo tudo o que Uzias, seu pai, havia feito. 35 Apenas os lugares altos não foram tirados, e o povo ainda sacrificava e queimava incenso nesses altos. Jotão construiu o Portão de Cima da Casa do Senhor.

36 Quanto aos demais atos de Jotão e a tudo o que fez, não está tudo escrito no Livro da História dos Reis de Judá? 37 Naqueles dias, o Senhor começou a enviar Rezim, rei da Síria, e Peca, filho de Remalias, contra Judá. 38 Jotão morreu e foi sepultado no túmulo de seus pais, na Cidade de Davi, seu pai. E Acaz, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

1 In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah began to reign. 2 He was sixteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem. 3 He did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, according to all that his father Amaziah had done. 4 However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places. 5 Yahweh struck the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house. 8 In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah the son of Jeroboam reigned over Israel in Samaria six months. 9 He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, as his fathers had done. He didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin. 10 Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and struck him before the people and killed him, and reigned in his place. 11 Now the rest of the acts of Zechariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel. 12 This was Yahweh’s word which he spoke to Jehu, saying, "Your sons to the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel." So it came to pass.

13 Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah, and he reigned for a month in Samaria. 14 Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, came to Samaria, struck Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, killed him, and reigned in his place. 15 Now the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

16 Then Menahem attacked Tiphsah and all who were in it, and its border areas, from Tirzah. He attacked it because they didn’t open their gates to him, and he ripped up all their women who were with child.

17 In the thirty ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, Menahem the son of Gadi began to reign over Israel for ten years in Samaria. 18 He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight. He didn’t depart all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin. 19 Pul the king of Assyria came against the land, and Menahem gave Pul one thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand. 20 Menahem exacted the money from Israel, even from all the mighty men of wealth, from each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and didn’t stay there in the land. 21 Now the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? 22 Menahem slept with his fathers, and Pekahiah his son reigned in his place.

23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria for two years. 24 He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight. He didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin. 25 Pekah the son of Remaliah, his captain, conspired against him and attacked him in Samaria, in the fortress of the king’s house, with Argob and Arieh; and with him were fifty men of the Gileadites. He killed him, and reigned in his place. 26 Now the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

27 In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria for twenty years. 28 He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight. He didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin. 29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria came and took Ijon, Abel Beth Maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and he carried them captive to Assyria. 30 Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, attacked him, killed him, and reigned in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah. 31 Now the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

32 In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel, Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah began to reign. 33 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jerusha the daughter of Zadok. 34 He did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes. He did according to all that his father Uzziah had done. 35 However the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places. He built the upper gate of Yahweh’s house. 36 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 37 In those days, Yahweh began to send Rezin the king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah against Judah. 38 Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in his father David’s city; and Ahaz his son reigned in his place.
