Seventy Weeks and the Messiah

24 "Seventy *9:24 Or units of seven, and so throughout the chweeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to *9:24 Or bring to an endfinish the wrongdoing, to *9:24 Another reading is seal up sinsmake an end of sin, to make atonement for guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and *9:24 Lit prophetprophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place. 25 So you are to know and understand that from the issuing of a *9:25 Lit worddecree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, until *9:25 Or an anointed oneMessiah the Prince, there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with*9:25 Or city squarestreets and moat, even in times of distress. 26 Then after the sixty-two weeks, the *9:26 Or anointed oneMessiah will be cut off and have *9:26 Or no onenothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And *9:26 Or hisits end will come with a flood; even to the end *9:26 Or war will be decreed for desolationsthere will be war; desolations are determined. 27 And he will confirm a covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of *9:27 Or detestable thingsabominations will come the one who *9:27 Or causes horrormakes desolate, until a complete destruction, one that is *9:27 Or determineddecreed, gushes forth on the one who *9:27 Or causes horrormakes desolate."
