1 "Take up a lament concerning the princes of Israel2 and say: "'What a lioness was your mother among the lions! They led him with hooks to the land of Egypt.5 "'When she saw her hope unfulfilled, her expectation gone, she took another of her cubs and made him a strong lion.6 He prowled among the lions, for he was now a strong lion. The land and all who were in it were terrified by his roaring.8 Then the nations came against him, those from regions round about. They spread their net for him, and he was trapped in their pit.9 With hooks they pulled him into a cage and brought him to the king of Babylon. They put him in prison, so his roar was heard no longer on the mountains of Israel.10 "'Your mother was like a vine in your vineyard "planted by the water; it was fruitful and full of branches because of abundant water.11 Its branches were strong, fit for a ruler's scepter. 1 اما انت فارفع مرثاة على رؤساء اسرائيل2 وقل. ما هي امك. لبوة ربضت بين الأسود وربّت جراءها بين الاشبال.3 ربّت واحدا من جرائها فصار شبلا وتعلم افتراس الفريسة. اكل الناس.4 فلما سمعت به الامم أخذ في حفرتهم فأتوا به بخزائم الى ارض مصر.5 فلما رأت انها قد انتظرت وهلك رجاؤها اخذت آخر من جرائها وصيرته شبلا.6 فتمشى بين الأسود. صار شبلا وتعلم افتراس الفريسة. اكل الناس.7 وعرف قصورهم وخرب مدنهم فاقفرت الارض وملؤها من صوت زمجرته.8 فاتفق عليه الامم من كل جهة من البلدان وبسطوا عليه شبكتهم فأخذ في حفرتهم9 فوضعوه في قفص بخزائم واحضروه الى ملك بابل وأتوا به الى القلاع لكيلا يسمع صوته بعد على جبال اسرائيل10 امك ككرمة مثلك غرست على المياه. كانت مثمرة مفرخة من كثرة المياه.11 وكان لها فروع قوية لقضبان المتسلطين وارتفع ساقها بين الاغصان الغبياء وظهرت في ارتفاعها بكثرة زراجينها.12 لكنها اقتلعت بغيظ وطرحت على الارض وقد يبّست ريح شرقية ثمرها. قصفت ويبست فروعها القوية. اكلتها النار.13 والآن غرست في القفر في ارض يابسة عطشانة.14 وخرجت نار من فرع عصّيها اكلت ثمرها. وليس لها الآن فرع قوي لقضيب تسلّط. هي رثاء وتكون لمرثاة
