7This disaster came upon the people of Israel because they worshiped other gods. They sinned against the Lord their God, who had brought them safely out of Egypt and had rescued them from the power of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt.

36But worship only the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt with great strength and a powerful arm. Bow down to him alone, and offer sacrifices only to him.

39You must worship only the Lord your God. He is the one who will rescue you from all your enemies."

19For the law never made anything perfect. But now we have confidence in a better hope, through which we draw near to God.

2This is how it must be done. Everyone must cancel the loans they have made to their fellow Israelites. They must not demand payment from their neighbors or relatives, for the Lord’s time of release has arrived.

6The Lord your God will bless you as he has promised. You will lend money to many nations but will never need to borrow. You will rule many nations, but they will not rule over you.

15Remember that you were once slaves in the land of Egypt and the Lord your God redeemed you! That is why I am giving you this command.

5How kind the Lord is! How good he is!So merciful, this God of ours!

13I will lift up the cup of salvationand praise the Lord’s name for saving me.

19in the house of the Lordin the heart of Jerusalem.Praise the Lord!

13But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.

15And remember, our Lord’s patience gives people time to be saved. This is what our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you with the wisdom God gave him—

18Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.

5You have spent your years on earth in luxury, satisfying your every desire. You have fattened yourselves for the day of slaughter.

8You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.

16In that day Judah will be saved,and Jerusalem will live in safety.And this will be its name:‘The Lord Is Our Righteousness.’33:16 Hebrew Yahweh Tsidqenu.

6"Therefore, say to the people of Israel: ‘I am the Lord. I will free you from your oppression and will rescue you from your slavery in Egypt. I will redeem you with a powerful arm and great acts of judgment.

7I will claim you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God who has freed you from your oppression in Egypt.

8I will bring you into the land I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I will give it to you as your very own possession. I am the Lord!’"

6"Six of the towns you give the Levites will be cities of refuge, where a person who has accidentally killed someone can flee for safety. In addition, give them forty-two other towns.

24If this should happen, the community must follow these regulations in making a judgment between the slayer and the avenger, the victim’s nearest relative:

25The community must protect the slayer from the avenger and must escort the slayer back to live in the city of refuge to which he fled. There he must remain until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the sacred oil.

17But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength so that I might preach the Good News in its entirety for all the Gentiles to hear. And he rescued me from certain death.4:17 Greek from the mouth of a lion.

18Yes, and the Lord will deliver me from every evil attack and will bring me safely into his heavenly Kingdom. All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.

22May the Lord be with your spirit. And may his grace be with all of you.

4He said to me, ‘I will make you fruitful, and I will multiply your descendants. I will make you a multitude of nations. And I will give this land of Canaan to your descendants48:4 Hebrew seed; also in 48:19. after you as an everlasting possession.’

15Then he blessed Joseph and said,"May the God before whom my grandfather Abrahamand my father, Isaac, walked—the God who has been my shepherdall my life, to this very day,

16the Angel who has redeemed me from all harm—may he bless these boys.May they preserve my nameand the names of Abraham and Isaac.And may their descendants multiply greatlythroughout the earth."

24Then Jesus said to the woman, "I was sent only to help God’s lost sheep—the people of Israel."

28"Dear woman," Jesus said to her, "your faith is great. Your request is granted." And her daughter was instantly healed.

30A vast crowd brought to him people who were lame, blind, crippled, those who couldn’t speak, and many others. They laid them before Jesus, and he healed them all.

10where he noticed a man with a deformed hand. The Pharisees asked Jesus, "Does the law permit a person to work by healing on the Sabbath?" (They were hoping he would say yes, so they could bring charges against him.)

12And how much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Yes, the law permits a person to do good on the Sabbath."

15But Jesus knew what they were planning. So he left that area, and many people followed him. He healed all the sick among them,

11Did God’s people stumble and fall beyond recovery? Of course not! They were disobedient, so God made salvation available to the Gentiles. But he wanted his own people to become jealous and claim it for themselves.

12… turned down God’s offer of salvation, think how much greater …

15For since their rejection meant that God offered salvation to the rest of the world, their acceptance will be even more wonderful. It will be life for those who were dead!

26And so all Israel will be saved. As the Scriptures say,"The one who rescues will come from Jerusalem,11:26a Greek from Zion.and he will turn Israel11:26b Greek Jacob. away from ungodliness.

14Sing, O daughter of Zion;shout aloud, O Israel!Be glad and rejoice with all your heart,O daughter of Jerusalem!

15For the Lord will remove his hand of judgmentand will disperse the armies of your enemy.And the Lord himself, the King of Israel,will live among you!At last your troubles will be over,and you will never again fear disaster.

17For the Lord your God is living among you.He is a mighty savior.He will take delight in you with gladness.With his love, he will calm all your fears.3:17 Or He will be silent in his love. Greek and Syriac versions read He will renew you with his love.He will rejoice over you with joyful songs."

7By God’s grace and mighty power, I have been given the privilege of serving him by spreading this Good News.

19May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

21Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.

8"But now we have been given a brief moment of grace, for the Lord our God has allowed a few of us to survive as a remnant. He has given us security in this holy place. Our God has brightened our eyes and granted us some relief from our slavery.

9For we were slaves, but in his unfailing love our God did not abandon us in our slavery. Instead, he caused the kings of Persia to treat us favorably. He revived us so we could rebuild the Temple of our God and repair its ruins. He has given us a protective wall in Judah and Jerusalem.

15O Lord, God of Israel, you are just. We come before you in our guilt as nothing but an escaped remnant, though in such a condition none of us can stand in your presence."
