28 But and if youimarry, youihave not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she has not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.
36 But if any man think that he behaves himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of [her]age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sins not: let them marry.
38 So then he that gives [her]in marriage does well; but he that gives [her]not in marriage does better.
28 But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you. 36 But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of herage, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry. 38 So then he that giveth herin marriage doeth well; but he that giveth hernot in marriage doeth better.
28 But if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But those who marry will face many troubles in this life, and I want to spare you this.
36 If anyone is worried that he might not be acting honorably toward the virgin he is engaged to, and if his passions are too strong7:36 Or if she is getting beyond the usual age for marriageand he feels he ought to marry, he should do as he wants. He is not sinning. They should get married. 38 So then, he who marries the virgin does right, but he who does not marry her does better.7:36-38 Or 36 If anyone thinks he is not treating his daughter properly, and if she is getting along in years (or if her passions are too strong), and he feels she ought to marry, he should do as he wants. He is not sinning. He should let her get married. 37 But the man who has settled the matter in his own mind, who is under no compulsion but has control over his own will, and who has made up his mind to keep the virgin unmarried—this man also does the right thing. 38 So then, he who gives his virgin in marriage does right, but he who does not give her in marriage does better.
28 But if you do marry, you have not sinned, and if a betrothed woman7:28 Greek virgin; also verse 34marries, she has not sinned. Yet those who marry will have worldly troubles, and I would spare you that.
36 If anyone thinks that he is not behaving properly toward his betrothed,7:36 Greek virgin; also verses 37, 38if his7:36 Or herpassions are strong, and it has to be, let him do as he wishes: let them marry—it is no sin. 38 So then he who marries his betrothed Heb. 13:4does well, and he who refrains from marriage will do even better.
28 But if you do get married, it is not a sin. And if a young woman gets married, it is not a sin. However, those who get married at this time will have troubles, and I am trying to spare you those problems.
36 But if a man thinks that he’s treating his fiancée improperly and will inevitably give in to his passion, let him marry her as he wishes. It is not a sin. 38 So the person who marries his fiancée does well, and the person who doesn’t marry does even better.
28 But even if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. Nevertheless such will have trouble in the flesh, but I would spare you.
36 But if any man thinks he is behaving improperly toward his virgin, if she is past the flower of youth, and thus it must be, let him do what he wishes. He does not sin; let them marry. 38 Heb. 13:4So then he who gives her in marriage does well, but he who does not give her in marriage does better.
28 But if you marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. Yet such people as yourselves will have 7:28 Lit tribulation in the fleshtrouble in this life, and I am trying to spare you.
36 But if anyone thinks that he is acting dishonorably toward his virgin, if she is 7:36 Or past pubertypast her youth and it ought to be so, let him do what he wishes, he is not sinning; let 7:36 I.e., the woman and her betrothed or fiancéthem marry. 38 So then, both the one who gives his own virgin in marriage does well, and the one who does not give her in marriage will do better.
28 However, if you do get married, 7:28 1Tm 5:14you have not sinned, and if a virgin 7:28 Or betrothed womanmarries, she has not sinned. But such people will have trouble in this life, 7:28 Lit in the fleshand I am trying to spare you.
36 If any man thinks he is acting improperly toward the virgin he is engaged to, if she is getting beyond the usual age for marriage, and he feels he should marry — he can do what he wants. He is not sinning; they can get married. 38 So, then, he who marries his fiancée does well, but he who does not marry will do better. 7:36–38 Or 36If any man thinks he is acting improperly toward his virgin daughter, if she is getting beyond the usual age for marriage, and he feels she should marry — he can do what he wants. He is not sinning; she can get married. 37But he who stands firm in his heart (who is under no compulsion, but has control over his own will) and has decided in his heart to keep his own virgin daughter will do well. 38So then he who gives his own virgin daughter in marriage does well, but he who does not give his own virgin daughter in marriage will do better.
28 But if thou take a wife, thou hast not sinned. And if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned: nevertheless, such shall have tribulation of the flesh. But I spare you. 36 But if any man think that he seemeth dishonoured, with regard to his virgin, for that she is above the age, and it must so be: let him do what he will; he sinneth not, if she marry. 38 Therefore, both he that giveth his virgin in marriage, doth well; and he that giveth her not, doth better.
